Why do dems and leftist elites hold such resentment for poor& middle class Americans?

There's not enough room to adequately describe the subject title, so what I'm asking is, why do the democrats and the progressive elite seem to feel so much resentment and lack of respect for poor, lower and middle-middle class Americans(predominantly white, but other races as well)?

The evidence of this builds daily. The Clintons spoke disrespectfully of these people, today we heard Obama once again refer to these Americans as essentially opposing 'globalism' for no legitimate reason, other than baseless, irrational fears that lead them to want to go ball up in a corner somewhere where they will feel "safe". When Obama cut back on coal energy and doubled down on natural gas energy, he basically threw the economically poor coal workers out into the streets with no program for job training or anything else!

The democrats continually push for immigration policies and amnesty that directly result in job losses and depressed salaries for blue collar Americans. They push for "globalism", at the direct expense of working class Americans who lose their jobs when companies pack up and leave for China or Mexico or etc.

The left wing elite speak of uneducated Americans as ignorant fools who just aren't intelligent enough to realize what's really best for them. But what's worse, are the insinuations about how these Americans are more likely to be racist and/or sexist and/or bigoted, and therefore they vote for someone like Trump instead of a wonderful candidate like Hillary.

So obviously the democrats don't seem to have respect for the aforementioned Americans, and it's obvious to me that the left wing elite are willing to sacrifice these people in the name of ideological advancement. Apparently it's become obvious to many of these people, which is probably why they didn't just blindly vote for more of the same. I lost my house and watched my insurance costs increase, while my income decreased, ALL under Obama. So it's clear to me that these people are more intelligent than the left give them credit for!

Why do democrats, who mostly are "poor, lower and middle-middle class Americans(predominantly white, but other races as well)", resent "poor, lower and middle-middle class Americans(predominantly white, but other races as well)"? You have successfully created complete and total nonsense in your desperate attempt to try and make people you disagree with into bad people(even though they are not mostly bad people). The party that wants to raise the minimum wage, tax the rich at greater levels, expand healthcare coverage, fight systemic injustice (well, some of them), and generally use "big gubment" to help people that aren't of the upper classes?

The idea, suddenly because of an (alleged) Billionaire winning an election, the Republicans are suddenly the party of the working man, is as laughable as it is stupid.

The Democratic Party changed from being the party of the working class regardless of sex, color, religion, etc., which was FDR's coalition, and turned to being the party of interest groups. Working class whites were gradually voted off of the island for their objections to social policies and falling influence, and some of them became Republicans.

Democratic elites came to despise them, and I mean literally despise them the way Hillary despised, disrespected, and treated rudely the people assigned to protect her, who she considered working class "****kickers". Liberal students at Yale refer to unemployed coal miners in Appalachia as being "privileged". Washington, DC, elites who will stab each other in the back to get their kids into a $50,000 a year all white preschool call them racist. Any suggestion of extending attention or help to them among such Democrats is greeted with a shocked silence. The Democrats promoted free trade, reductions in coal production, and cozied up to big companies that were shipping jobs, factories and even back office functions over seas. All of this hurt the working class.

It was striking until just recently, though, how many of them remained with the Democratic party.

And then along comes Trump... Or, I should say, Trump and Sanders. That Sanders was dispatched to make way for Clinton, the very epitome of the Democratic Party Elite I'm talking about, was just more evidence that the Democrats had well and truly written off the working class.

Well, Trump is the leader of that party now. We'll see how much of his agenda they will go along with.

What is pretty clear, though, is that if the Republicans are not the party of the working class then the working class has no party.

The dems call themselves the party of the poor and downtrodden. They certainly are now pushing for minimum wage increases in some places. That sounds good until your employer cuts your hours to just below full time, so that they can offset the extra $1-$3 per hour they are now paying, so that they are no longer being obligated to offer benefits. Then you must buy your own health insurance and pay high deductibles. Or they simply cut back their work force while expecting the workers they keep on their payrolls to work harder.

But even if none of that were relevant, the fact is that after nearly 8 years of Obama, the rich are richer, the poor are poorer and the middle class has shrunk significantly! There are STILL record numbers of people living off of food stamps and welfare, while the number of people living on SSI
Disability has skyrocketed! These are lower income people.

Not to mention the fact that, in areas like De where I live, almost all the biggest employers have either closed their plants completely(GM & Chrysler in Newark and New Castle), been bought out(Wilmington Trust and MBNA America), with their old office buildings either vacant or run by some other company, or they've sold off large portions of their company(DuPont). Those made up at least 80% of the largest employers in my state, and largely thanks to the China trade deal and NAFTA signed by Bill Clinton, they represent a hell of a lot of lost jobs, at least 50% were blue collar.

The modern Democratic party is very anti-Middle Class. Even the term Middle Class is to aspirational and the possibility of more and more people moving up into the MiddleClass is too much of a threat for a party that depends on a dependent, uniformed subclass to remain in power.

There just cannot be a economy that allows people to pull themselves up out of poverty and into a higher class so Liberals do everything in their power to undermine any initiative that would lead to a healthy and growing free market system.

Hell, they oppose Free market principles.

There's a reason why States like California and New York have large chronic populations of homeless people and theres a reason why Democrats are essentially ignoring those people.

LA has the highest level of chronic homeless population in America and ever since New York elected Dumb **** Deblassio to be their Mayor the homeless population in New york has shot up.

Progressives would rather ignore these people and the policies that create these issues than critique their ideology. Their ideology comes first

The upside of Trump's win is that it's bringing the racist and delusional out in full force. I'm gonna start keeping a mental list.
