NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.....

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

What's stupid is trying desperately to pretend that the NYT claimed there is such a law.

Wow. Massive fail. Way to completely and utterly miss the point.

You didn't read the title? I referred to the title. You probably can't read the title. You probably don't want to read the title. The truth sucks I guess. Title challenged? Truth challenged?

Yes, of course I read the title.

Thanks for admitting that what's stupid is trying desperately to pretend that the NYT claimed there is such a law.

You know, because despite your instance otherwise ("There is no law for a person to disclose their taxes to become president. But hey, it's the NYT. We expect that kind of crud from the NYT."), they never actually claimed there was.

Mmmmmmm.... fail.

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

Last paragraph of the article linked in the OP..

Mr. Trump says he wants to fix a “rigged” political system controlled by a powerful elite. But by refusing to subject himself to the most basic level of financial scrutiny he is disqualifying himself as candidate.

The highlighted is presented as a statement of fact and not offered as opinion. It is incorrect, granted, but still presented as fact.

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

His hair is no more a problem than his orange skin or her blue contacts, occasionally falling down and goofy pantsuits. Both of those plastic candidates, with variable issue positions, look (and sound) terrible but, sadly, one will likely win anyway.

Seriously. The optics at the debate will be brutal. These are two very unattractive and unappealing candidates, in more ways than one.

NY Times editorial: By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as a candidate"

IN PART:

“……….All major party nominees for president going back nearly 40 years have released their tax returns except Donald Trump. That leads to a simple question: What is he hiding? ............

………….Mr. Trump has offered nothing but fallacious excuses for keeping his returns secret. Initially, he said he would not release returns until the Internal Revenue Service completed an ongoing audit; the agency said there’s no rule stopping disclosure during an audit. Recently, one of his sons said the returns are so long and complex that people would ask too many questions if they were allowed to see them. None of these claims make sense. ………..

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/21/opinion/mr-trumps-stupid-excuses-on-taxes.html

It would seem the “free ride” of the coverage of Mr. Trump is over….. Given his relentless attacks on the media and the non-challenge style of journalism and continuous lies has ended……

Marking and end that style of reporting the news of the media …….. And a returning to what journalism as once was………….

You think he might be a tax dodger like half of Obama's first cabinet?

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

Shady doesn't necessarily mean illegal.

Its funny to see all of your excuses.

Are you going to vote for him?

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

Are you going to vote for him?

Has nothing to do with the argument. I don't want them released just so I can see. I want every voter to have the info needed for an informed decision.

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

Too complex?
How so?
I think the bottom line would be pretty simple to ascertain.
Having said that....and as a probable non-Trump voter....I'm guessing some info in the returns would be embarrassing for Donald.
Bottom line?
How about a "92-page personal-financial-disclosure report filed by Donald Trump as part of his presidential campaign" for the FEC from last year?
Donald Trump's $10 billion financial-disclosure report - Business Insider
I guess you'd have to say it's pretty bottom line but it's still 92 pages.
Ya gotta see what was in that kind of thing. Good grief.

i dont know any Trump voter who is clamoring to see them

only people undecided, or voting for one of the candidates is calling for them

and they arent likely to get their wish....

so now what...keep bitching about it i suppose

do you think any of this is changing anything though?

From the article. Wait, did you read the article? You should read the article and not take my word for it. You might continue to be wrong, as in full of **** on this one.

Yes, I did read the article.

All of your rather desperate rationalizing aside, what's stupid is trying desperately to pretend that the NYT claimed there is such a law: they haven't done so. The statement "But by refusing to subject himself to the most basic level of financial scrutiny he is disqualifying himself as candidate." is clearly their opinion, not a legal statement or a statement about legal requirements.

Go back, read it again, and maybe get an adult to help you out.

Yes, it has everything to do with this discussion.

I am and I don't care.

Just quoting the article and now that you openly ignore the quote from the article we know that you are lying. I can now ignore your idiocy.

LOL! You can lie to yourself all you'd like, but that quote has nothing to do with any legal argument or requirement.

Nice owning you.

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

We The People decide, a fact of life the NYT's might try to learn.

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

You think he might be a tax dodger like half of Obama's first cabinet?

And which half might that be?

Or did you just make that up so you might post something?

You born within the last year, because you shouldn't even have a question about that.

Caught in your own BS eh! And now doubling down on the same crap, as if you knew what you were speaking about.........

Give it up friend rather than making yourself sound more silly that you already are...........

Re: NYT editorial:By refusing to release returns, Trump "is disqualifying himself as.

Why should anyone give two hoots in hell about the opinion of some acolyte of Mrs. Clinton who works at that leftist rag? It's nothing but a propaganda organ for that damned Marxist liar. It's been many years and many printed lies ago since a well-informed person with any scruples could call it the "Newspaper of Record" or the "Gray Lady," or praise its journalistic standards, with a straight face. Why aren't the leftist hacks at that once-great paper talking about the federal felony statute, section 793(f) of the Federal Code, which Clinton almost certainly violated? Why aren't they talking about how her fellow Marxist liar, who continues to disgrace the White House, had the thing rigged so she wouldn't be prosecuted despite the very strong evidence of her guilt?

This is a very simple situation.
Trump has determined that it would be more politically damaging to release his returns than it is to not release them.

not releasing = a little political damage
releasing = catastrophic political damage
