For one, a baby breaths air and abortions don't happen the day before birth either. They are not legal or ethical once a fetus can survive on its own. I'm surprised you don't know that.

Humans are animals....you got that right. Fetuses are embryos of animals and no they are not yet members of anything. In nature there is no future only what is now.

Fetus is from the Latin for "small". Yes, an unborn (for example) whale is still a whale. It's not a pig, or a bird, or a coconut tree. It's a whale.

It's a fetus of a whale not a whale...Whales breath air too. There is no future in nature.

Which is still mostly nil in both cases and many animals will still kill the weakest of a litter so that the others may better thrive. But being an independent organism does make a difference. In higher primates it is all about the investment of resources that makes a life valuable and worth protecting.

That is so stupid I think I lost IQ points. Humans and other mammals have a life cycle where certain things are expected to happen at certain points in time. All the stages that take place before birth are part of that cycle and they are just as much members of the species as you are or I am.
