July 5th, 2016...The US is now officially a third world nation, politically.

Well, friends, we are now OFFICIALLY a third world nation as far as our corrupt political system goes.

The POTUS has endorsed a criminal. The EX-POTUS husband of that same criminal appointed the very same Attorney General to her first office, then that same EX-POTUS met with his appointee in a closed door meeting on the tarmac in Phoenix, and only a few days later, there were no charges brought against her.

This whole affair is a stinking pile that can be smelled miles away, and is EXACTLY like most third world countries where political appointees and their friends are completely IMMUNE from the laws of the land.

Politically, we are just like some petty dictatorship where the friends of the dictator can do what they want, when they want, and as long as they want.

Our country's honor died today. Today, I am no longer a proud American. Today I feel like I stepped in something, and it won't scrape off.

Trump getting elected will not fix this. He will only bring in his own brand of corruption, and his own friends that will be likewise protected.

I will still leave my flag up outside the house in remembrance of better days.

Today is a sad day for honor.

Calm down. You didn't lose your cherry today. Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon for any crimes he may have committed during his presidency, before any charges were brought, thus heading off any investigation. I'm sure there have been other, worse abuses of power in your country's past, so a little less drama, okay?

Someone would have to be mentally incapable of thought to believe Obama didn't know what they would do prior. There is no way that he would have Clinton on the plane knowing that she could possibly be indicted. This decision was already decided this past weekend, if not months prior. Obama is a very proud man. No way would he endorse and give a felon a free ride in Air Force One otherwise. It would tarnish his image even more.

Naturally, the opposite is true. There is absolutely no evidence that Obama had any contact with Lynch during the entire FBI investigation....or that Lynch had any contact with Comey. None.

Once again, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. A lot of people here were born at night but we weren't born yesterday.

You wouldn't care if there was evidence. You stopped responding after I proved you were wrong in the other thread about this. Facts and evidence are of no interest to you.

As a combat veteran I can't bring myself to watch fireworks or celebrate our national holidays. I look at the state of our union and feel sick to my stomach. I have an American flag tattooed across my back and won't take my shirt off in public for fear of being a terrorist target. Thanks for your input.

Many combat vets have an issue with fireworks. What in the world does that have to do with anything? My husband has the same reaction and he hasn't been in a combat zone since before we got married.

Your fear of taking your shirt off because of your tattoo is your personal issue and frankly seems very unwarranted in reality. I'm proud of my service and will tell people so, even strangers. So what if that makes me a target by some nut ball? Just being in or having been in the military makes a person a target, as does almost anything you do since absolutely anything you do, say, show, or so many other things can make you a target of a nut.

Honor?

I don't suppose you remember when Ford pardoned Nixon of ALL crimes he MAY have committed while POTUS? And you don't remember Iran-Contra, where the conservatives (all the way up to Reagan) laughed when Ollie North got away with selling missiles to Iran - IRAN! - and using the money to fund a secret war?

Guy, compared just to those two instances, what Hillary did is small potatoes indeed! And then there's the Valerie Plame affair, where Dick Cheney approved exposing a CIA agent in time of war! And then there was Bush lying us into war, lying to his own Secretary of State in order to make sure that he helped sell the war.

Oh, and one more thing - one of the things that drove me away from the GOP was just after Bill Clinton got arrested, some GOP senator from one of the Carolinas warned him not to come down to that senator's state, because he - the senator - couldn't guarantee the president's safety. That was the wording...and anyone can see what he actually meant.

Honor? Pfah! When the GOP comes around and learns what honor is, let me know - 'cause they haven't a clue and haven't had one since Nixon implemented the Southern Strategy.

Really, so you think that putting it in bold will somehow make your lies come true?

No, using facts makes it true. Something you have no interest in listening to.

Once again, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. A lot of people here were born at night but we weren't born yesterday.

Except that there is evidence of absence....

"...One thing is certain: Comey will not allow political interference in the FBI's decision on whether to prosecute Clinton or not. He and the bureau will do their duty and let the political chips fall where they may..."

Blog: FBI director Comey at odds with administration over numerous issues

If there was even a whiff of interference in the investigation...I doubt that Comey would stand for it....and the right wing media like the American Spectator would be all over it like flies on ****. But they weren't....and in fact, they seemed quite sure there wasn't any political interference.

That alone is good evidence that there wasn't any interference by Obama or Lynch in the FBI's investigation.

Damn, how many Americans in America were killed by terrorists? How many by automobiles? Perhaps your fear is a bit irrational.

Yep. I'm more afraid of some distracted fool hitting me with their car, than I am a Radical Islamist coming to blow me up.

Hey, you can't let your fear control how you think; the terrorists have won if you do that, because that's what they want. You can't let that paranoia and fear go to your head.

I am not a Republican, I am not a Democrat. I am an American. From this disrespecting America BS I think maybe a few of us have forgotten that.

Seriously? You're surprised? If Hillary Clinton were indicted as a mass murderer who ran a child-porn ring and sold crack to unwed mothers for extra income, Lord Obama would STILL endorse her.

Money and influence.

Funny how liberals hate rich people, except those rich people in congress with "D's" behind their names.

That isn't evidence of ****. More high-school-ish immaturity and adults squabbling like prepubescent teen girls.

Notwithstanding the fact that is a blog.

-Le sigh-

Most right right wing news sites are "blogs".

Damn, the drama's getting knee-deep in this thread.
Know what, laddybuck? Your country will be just fine. Well, in 4 years and change, it'll be fine. You're just getting an attack of the hyperboles after two administrations of a Democratic president. Conservatives have such a sense of ownership about the US government that 8 years of Obama looks like the world ended 4 years ago. Hell, even the previous Democratic president was a conservative. It's gonna be at least 4 years before a conservative is in the White House, yes, but know what? Your country will be just fine.

Funnier still is how conservatives have such short memories when it comes to money, influence and political corruption. It sucks, but pretending it's a liberal thing is like pretending your mother was a virgin the day you were born.

I thought Texas was seceding? Worst days were probably 9/11 and our ill fated attempt to change the middle east thanks to the neocon, nut job CHICKENHAWKS and the financial meltdown of 2008 when I was laid off. All under the Texas moron. Go figure.

Why are you citing a right-wing "news site" in the first place? :p

To show that not even Obama's fiercest critics saw or found any evidence of interference by Obama or Lynch in the FBI investigation...and it wasn't for lack of trying.
