After 8 years of a failed GOP governor, looks like things are finally starting to turn around in the Golden State under Governor Jerry Brown's leadership. :peace

Hoover creates a mess, FDR has to clean up.

Reagan/Bush Senior create a mess, Clinton has to clean up.

Dumbya Bush Jr. creates a mess, Obama has to clean up.

Arnold creates a mess, Jerry Brown has to clean up.

Anyone else see a pattern here?

You must have gone to public school and private college, cause your understanding of history is skewed, to say the least.

I suppose the view is very different from the other side of the world, than it is to someone living in the very middle of this mess.

My goodness, I sure do. Republicans are f*** ups and Democrats can do no wrong! :peace

Of course, some Democrats come across as total crack heads, but even the Left can have its vulnerable moments. ;)

California Finds Economic Gloom Starting to Lift

Yup. I've been trying to explain this to people on this website for weeks now. Unemployment in California is dropping faster than almost any other state. Housing prices are up. New jobs are being created in numerous sectors of the economy. We're not out of the woods yet, but we're getting there.

Are you somehow implying that a persons geographical location has any bearing on them understanding another part of the world...

It sure doesn't look that way to those of us who are actually living here.

By the way, your “…8 years of a failed GOP governor…” was seven years, not eight. Schwarzenegger was elected in an off-year election, to replace the most truly failed governor that the state has ever had, Gray Davis, a Democrat, who was removed from office in a recall election. For the most part, he did cleanup much of the mess that Davis had left for him.

Ya cause saying

Actually, that had some content that was debateable. I got that you disagree with him... other than that you just chose not to debate it and broad-stroked his vagueness with an even larger obtuseness.

I'm not implying anything. I'm outright stating it.

The OP is horrendously ignorant about the situation here in California. He doesn't live here, and he has no ideas what it is like to live here, under the mess that currently exists here.

Depends where you are. Those of us in the Bay Area are in pretty good shape. Hell, when I was talking to my mom over Thanksgiving, she told me she'd just found out that her house had appreciated in value by about 40% in the last six months.

But I heard on Fox News that businesses are fleeing the state in droves, poor Mexicans are forced to flee to Oklahoma and Texas because they can't afford to live in the liberal yuppy hellholes in places like the Bay Area, and Arnie was actually a closet liberal Democrat (like George W. Bush).

The sky is apparently falling in California!

Ya gotta love the optimism of the left. They see a glimmer and create a lightning bolt. From the posted link:

California reported a 10.1 percent unemployment rate last month, down from 11.5 percent in October 2011 and the lowest since February 2009. In September, California had its biggest month-to-month drop in unemployment in the 36 years the state has collected statistics, from 10.6 percent to 10.2 percent, though the state still has the third-highest jobless rate in the nation.

Yeah, buddy... leading the nation alright. Maybe Moonbeam can buy a few jobs with that surplus.

Just wondering, do you disagree with Jerry Brown's leadership thus far?

I neither agree nor disagree with his leadership... but @ 10% unemp, it's a little premature to hang 'greatest gov in history' around his neck just yet.

Can't rebut the facts, so you insult.

Schwarzenegger blew it. Spent all his time with his maid and cowtowing to the GOP obstructionists. Brown has fixed the economy in a couple years.

All rightwing memes, all the time.

California's economy dwarves any other state and would be a powerful economic nation in its own right (10 or 11th in the word as I recall). Recessions hit California harder because its economy is so big. But then its recoveries are also big. Alabama didn't have far to go to the bottom and won't rise much higher as the economy recovers. California always growth tremendously.

Schwarzenegger did blow it no doubt. Californians elected a movie star, what did they expect?
However you mentioned more than just Schwarzenegger. What for instance, did Clinton fix, that Reagan caused?

p.s. I think its funny that you find it insulting for me to say you went to public school!

8th largest, actually:

"California is responsible for 13.1 percent of the United States' $14.96 trillion gross domestic product (GDP). California's GDP is larger than that of all but 8 countries in dollar terms (the United States, China, Japan, Germany, France, [[Brazil], the United Kingdom, and Italy). It's larger than the GDPs of Russia, India, Canada, Australia, and Spain. In terms of Purchasing Power Parity[19], it's larger than all but 9 countries (the United States, China, India, Japan, Germany, Russia, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Italy), larger than Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Canada, and Turkey."
