The GOP is against mail-in voting which would protect voters from Covid exposure. Trump votes via mail. But mail-in voting is a bad idea to the GOP.
Key reason is that the reelection of Donald Trump and many GOP incumbents in congress would be more difficult if the vote is larger in November.
The GOP wants to win. Even if they force Americans to vote in droves and some die. Isn't that a fine example of "family values" and "America first" patriotism?

That's right, and I appreciate learning from other posters who are knowledgeable and may explain parts of the law or government actions that I'm not familiar with. I like to read information from reasonable people who don't live their lives in a bubble.

He's won one already. I, for one, think all elections should be held on the appointed date no matter what. That's called consistency.

IF that happens, who would become president? Pence's term ends the same as Trump's. Pelosi's ends on Jan 3 (so does McConnell's - at least we'd be rid of him too). I guess that leaves Grassley - that might be even worse than Trump.
 
Smart idea by Trump.Delay the election until New Yorkers have buried their dead and over their grief.The dead Cuomo is responsible for.By the way,New York delayed their primary.Same thing.
