Yes; Trump is an absolutely ill-mannered buffoon and a loud mouth uncouth braggart.

He talks and acts more like a ludicrous longshoreman than a billionaire businessman.

So how on earth did Trump manage such overwhelming support and loyalty of so many people?

The 7 Reasons for Trump's Success are:

(1)Trump knows exactly what the problems are that's long been eating away the America Dream.

(2)Trump knows these problems are of utmost importance to an overwhelming segment of America.

(3)Trump knows that literally no candidate from either party has ever dared to address these problems.

(4)Trump promises that as POTUS to correct these problems, returning America to its former greatness.

(5)Trump's ability to deliver on promises, despite the very hostile opposition by a Congressional Majority.

(6)Trump's unmatched success against political correctness, progressive MSM and deep-state corruption.

(7)Trump doesn't have to put on a phony pose because what you see is what he is which is what you get!

If you had no idea who Donald Trump was and saw him eating a Big Mac Meal at McDonald's;
would you guess him to be:

(A)a billionaire?
or
(B)just your average loud mouth fat man with bad table manners?

I suspect most people would check option-(B)...which is reason#7 for Trump's success.

How often do Political Candidates make fools of themselves trying to convince us;

"look voters, I'm just like you"?.....But not the Trumpster!

Here's why Trump can be elected President- because if you are of just average intelligence exactly half the population is dumber than you.

I hate ta hafta toot my own flute but u'm gunna anyhow.....I am perty dern smart, Granma...

And daddy spent oodles of money educating his little darling at some of the worlds most prestigious institutions of higher learning...I'll leave it at that to avoid undo damage to your dignity...aren't I sweet?

Okay...so it is your contention that a more deserving candidate such as Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders cannot be elected until the number of smart voters surpass the number of dumb voters...I see?!

Wow  I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Teacher's Union and Public School System for failing to produce the required number of intelligent people necessary to defeat Donald Trump.

This travesty of education has turned out to be a blessing in disguise.....all in favor of doubling the salary of every union educator; stand and shout your support and gratitude for making the Trump Presidency possible!

Hey wait a minute; where was all the dummies at in 2008 and 2012. :wassat1:

First, forget trying to write vernacular. You ain't got the chops. Second, my education ended when I finished my apprenticeship and passed my tests for journeyman and I can't be impressed by lists of academic accomplishments, especially when they look, uh, suspiciously fictional. And third, like many people who have luke-warm qualifications in both, you apparently equate intelligence with education. Try to correct this flaw in your judgement.
My contention, Empirica, is that nearly everyone who voted for Trump is on the left side of the bell curve. Yeah, yeah, I know, there's lots of people who only voted for Trump to keep a SCOTUS nomination out of Democratic hands, but even they have been assimilated into the strange, Borg-like collective of Trumpelievers. And it took a whole whack of dimwits to actually elect that snake oil salesman. Speaking of that, have you noticed that the people elected Clinton but the States elected Trump, and now the representatives of the people have voted to impeach Trump and the representatives of the States will let him walk? Remember where you heard it first.

You won't be damaging my dignity, and there is no need to name-drop institutions either, but because you use the plural "institutions," please tell me more about your academic attainments.

Any attempt, "vernacular" or otherwise, to appear as one of the little people, is denotive of all those phony POTUS hopefuls.

But you might be on to something here, GM...so, if I follow your advise and be myself and Trump continues just being Trump; maybe all those lying phony politicians can learn to be themselves.

Do you think 'being themselves' would up their odds or destroy any chance for success?

I suppose that would depend on what 'being themselves' would actually look like...scary, huh?

Think about it...the result of voting for a phony is not knowing what you're getting till it's too late.

Second, my education ended when I finished my apprenticeship and passed my tests for journeyman and I can't be impressed by lists of academic accomplishments, especially when they look, uh, suspiciously fictional.
It's hard to believe myself sometimes, considering I'm 1st generation American born citizen.

And third, like many people who have luke-warm qualifications in both, you apparently equate intelligence with education. Try to correct this flaw in your judgement.
The flaw is all yours...I am indeed very much both, and well aware of the importance of each.

You're obviously confused...people of a "Borg-like collective" are easily identified by their conformity.

One tell-tale example of "collective" is believing anything provided by government, is free of charge.

Speaking of that, have you noticed that the people elected Clinton but the States elected Trump,
And the collective thought here is the Electoral College is bad until it shifts in you favor.

and now the representatives of the people have voted to impeach Trump and the representatives of the States will let him walk? Remember where you heard it first.
This is what usually happens when a prosecutor attempts to charge a defendant in a case based entirely on opinions and presumptions but in a court of law that requires evidence based on facts.

You're obviously have no idea of the duties and responsibilities of those involved in the 'impeachment' process.

In a nutshell: The 'prosecutor' is the House of Representatives and the 'court of law' is the Senate...get it?

That’s a labor intensive reply......

I am forced to poke holes in the OP because I think that most of the points are based on perception - a rosy view of the man and his motives - that have largely been proven false by his actions.

Yes; Trump is an absolutely ill-mannered buffoon and a loud mouth uncouth braggart.

A lot of his supporters like that. They mistake it for straight shooting or just plain like to hear the garbage he spews because they think it is manly or tough or supports their worldview. That nature appeals to the red hat brigade. Unfortunately it is not remotely presidential, or even grownup.

(1)Trump knows exactly what the problems are that's long been eating away the America Dream.
(2)Trump knows these problems are of utmost importance to an overwhelming segment of America.

These are more or less the same point and yes, even Trump could see the American dream has failed for many. He's not the first to point that out but he was the most willing to blame it on liberals and foreigners and other emotive props rather than address the real imbalances. This creates the perceptions he's "one of us" to many who have been left behind by both politics and the economy.

(3)Trump knows that literally no candidate from either party has ever dared to address these problems.
(4)Trump promises that as POTUS to correct these problems, returning America to its former greatness.

I'd say on both sides they've all tried to some extent, and with mixed results. However their efforts on both side again, have been half-hearted and aimed at small improvements without upsetting the status quo. Trump seized on this - as another prop - and has done exactly diddly squat about it. His promises to drain the swamp are laughable when instead he implements the most corrupt administration in generations. In this respect he has made a promise to address problems when his intention has always been to do the exact opposite. His supporters should see it by now. Swing voters probably can.

(5)Trump's ability to deliver on promises, despite the very hostile opposition by a Congressional Majority.

Again mixed. In terms of appealing to conservative morality with actual policies, he's done a good job of stacking the courts with conservatives and anti-abortionists. One might argue any republican would have felt obligated to do so. As for the economy and jobs - he hasn't done much. Recent govt figures show his trade war has only hurt jobs. The tax cuts have only benefited the rich. He's failed to save dying coal and steel plants. This is largely because he hasn't much patience for policy, doesn't know how the economy works and doesn't care as long as he stays rich.In terms of his more emotive side, hating on foreigners - another core tenet of his policy - certainly nobody has 'done more': he's banned Muslims, rounded up Hispanics, tried (half-heartedly) to build his promised wall, and takes every opportunity to rail against people of color. However he's been shot down by the courts at almost every turn, so it's a 'moral' success for those of his followers who are into that sort of thing but largely a political failure.

(6)Trump's unmatched success against political correctness, progressive MSM and deep-state corruption.

I don't see how these can be lumped together but oh well. Political correctness is not a real issue that needs addressing. All he's done is whine about it and be rude to people anyway so again it's merely the perception that he's fighting back. You might argue he's made bad manners and racism fashionable again. I wouldn't call that a plus. On a similar note trolling the 'MSM' is hardly a success. It's just running his freakin' mouth.

The last deserves its own line. Trump has done nothing to address the corruption in Washington. He has only made it worse: emoluments, profiting from the business of government, paying hush money from campaign funds, soliciting foreign governments to help him in elections: He is corruption personified, which is why he is being impeached. Far from dealing with corruption he is the most corrupt president in over a century.

(7)Trump doesn't have to put on a phony pose because what you see is what he is which is what you get!

This is true. A rude, corrupt, fat, boorish lout. He doesn't hide it, he never did. his supporters seem to have this fantasy image of Trump in their heads. The rest of us totally agree with the above statement: what you see is what you get - a fat, rude, boorish, corrupt, bigoted lout.

So back to the opening statement.

Yes; Trump is an absolutely ill-mannered buffoon and a loud mouth uncouth braggart.

When someone tells you who they are, listen to them.

Here's why Trump can be elected President- because if you are of just average intelligence exactly half the population is dumber than you.

True, but decades of targeted right wing propaganda really helped, too. I got sucked in for a while myself.

That’s a labor intensive reply......

I thought the same. Can't be arsed to work through it, which might be the intention.
Also, if I find I'm just trying to find new words to say what I've already said, well...

You won't be damaging my dignity, and there is no need to name-drop institutions either, but because you use the plural "institutions," please tell me more about your academic attainments.
You're a very naughty boy...That information is classified: Top Secret/Need To Know Only.

And I would just feel awful if you were to be targeted for termination...with extreme prejudice.

I heard you're working for the C-I-A...

They wouldn't have you in the Maf-I-A...

So have yourself a lovely day...Empi-out~

I can see how some might think that...but I'm actually pretty fast.

I try to make my point as clear and unmistakable as possible.

There's a lot of people here, for whatever reason, that just don't get it.

The fascinating thing about Trump is that he basically delivers on nothing. He talks a great game and fights, even insults a widow and a child. But otherwise, he's just an excellent con man, as your own post shows. He's sure got you conned. In his defense, it points to... nothing.

Right...because saying that you hold a Master's or a doctorate will make someone a target for anything.

I deleted the rest of your reply(probly a thousand words or more) because your first paragraph reveals all the misconceptions contained throughout your post; which are quite disturbing!

Like 99% of all Trump haters; your hate began with the President's political views and policies.

Then you expanded that hatred for his political views and policies to include Trump personally.

Then you further expanded all your hate for Trump and his politics to include his many supporters.

Hate rooted in politics that include duly elected officials and supporters, indicate political radicalization.

And radicalization of an entire Political Party is a threat to democracy and needs to be dealt with ASAP.

This Trump Derangement Syndrome is not a joke...it is absolutely real and it is seriously dangerous!

Wow; what planet have you been on for the last three years?

Right...because saying that you hold a Master's or a doctorate will make someone a target for anything.
Hey; you're a girl...I musta missed that; why didn't ya say something...I'm gonna spill my beans.

I have a degree in making really smart people, say really dumb things. :giggle1: just kidding!

I have degrees in business and psychology...they compliment each other...doncha think?

And some less impressive academic yahoos that were a waste of me dad's money; sorry pop!

I rest my case
Why? Your case couldn't have been all that heavy!

Trump is a loud, ignorant man who has no problem with being loud and ignorant in public.

This attracts a certain type of person.

What's with the random bolding?

There is a lot of loufa going on there.

Yeah, looks like it.

Am I the only one who laughs himself sick watching self-professed libertarians preaching slavish devotion to a president?

I never thought an American could be like that for a politician. A quarterback, sure. But not a politician.
