Imagine a 269-269 Electoral College Tie In 2020

I always thought it would be so interesting to witness such a historical event in my lifetime.

If no candidate receives a majority of Electoral votes, the House of Representatives elects the President from the 3 Presidential candidates who received the most Electoral votes. Each state delegation has one vote.

Just wondered what would happen, so I looked it up. Since the House is predominated by Democrats, the outcome is predictable.

What would be more interesting would be to see them play rock, paper, scissors to decide.

I think the House Representatives should do a marathon Chicken Dance on the White House lawn. Last man standing names the President.

You didn't dig deep enough. Each state's delegation would get one vote. That means that Wyoming gets one vote the same as California does. Now what do you suppose the outcome would be?

If it came down to one state, one vote, then the mostly rural, mostly Republican states would rule. If Congress had to decide, the presidential term would likely expire before they had come to an agreement.

Rock, paper, scissors would work better.
