Can't wait.

I want to see blood, not pattycakes; now is the time for ruthless Darwinism and the winnowing of the weak.

Also definitely have concerns about the debates being too diffuse between too many candidates.

Didn't realize that you want to see tRump re-elected.

The entire point of the debates is precisely to help filter out the weak candidates so the strongest Democrats persevere and go on to face the GOP.

I don't know why de Blasio is even bothering.

Maybe four more years of tRump is what you want.

Will all the losers got a participation trophy? How about a comfort dog, and cup of hot chocolate?

must see TV:party

It should be amusing.
I will DVR it so we don’t have to endure all the phony **** they are promising the viewers

If they keep “diddling,” that is what will happen, imo.

They need to focus more on why they would make good presidents than try to nitpick the Democratic party.

What's wrong with wanting to see the weak winnowed?

That's the point.

I would recommend that all 23-24 candidates get in a “smoke filled, back room,” and exit behind the best candidate and work toward getting that candidate elected.

Yep, otherwise too much precious funding and air time gets wasted on the (far too) many "also rans". The more time that they waste on proclaiming how "not Trump-like" they are then the less time they have left (pun intended) to outdo each other's promises to expand the federal government's power and expense to previously unimaginable levels. ;)

...promises to expand the federal government's power and expense to previously unimaginable levels. ;)

Not unlike a certain current president who has a hard on to invade Iran.

Isn't that pretty much how we the sheeple got offered Hillary vs. Bernie in the DNC 2016 primary race?

Is your point that only the party elites should do the winnowing of the field of primary candidates and that having even two "frontrunners" is one too many?

A big circus with clowns and freaks and no admission.

Two dozen choices at this stage of the game is too many; what a waste of resources. Money should not matter in politics, but that is where we are and have been for...ever. We the sheeple are too worried with crapola, like how big Kim Kardashian's butt is. Congress has ceded power/authority for to long and are spineless to take it back.

IMHO, even Trump is smart enough to know that invading Iran would guarantee his loss in the 2020 POTUS general election. Trump still has quite a few ME military "conflicts" brewing and has expressed little (or no?) desire to start another. The only way that I could see the US military getting involved with Iran directly is if Israel goes rogue and starts something with Iran and 'we are forced to defend our best buddy in the region'.

I don't think he's dumb enough to do it before, but after, should he win, god forbid? With 4 years to go? I can see runaway/slippery slope escalation happening easily, and he certainly appears eager enough to throw down with Iran.

You're confused. This thread is about the dem debate not the White House.

Congress critters (of both parties) are content to let the POTUS take the blame/credit for almost everything. That political strategy (keeping everything as "an issue") rewards the congress critters (of both parties) with a re-election rate of over 90%. That is pretty much perfection in career politician terms.

I agree. All bets are off for an old man with absolutely no prior or future political ambitions. As Trump (wisely?) asked African-Americans in 2016 - "What have you got to lose?".
