1) US nationality
2) Enough votes from Electoral college.

Is there anything else?

Presidency is really different in other countries, like our president (Sauli Niinistö) don't want to mess with domestic politics (I think he should, even little bit). So Sauli is more like face of Finland and helping with all diplomatic issues. Talking with other leaders and so on. Tump is interested in what? Making America Great Again? How many % American Greatness improved in Trump's era?

Lying has to be mandatory habit in US, because Trump just reached 10.000 lies and everything is OK, nothing matters.

I have an idea, just set up a limit how many times POTUS can lie and when it's more than that he must resign ASAP. Like 15.000 lies / 4 years. How anyone can be taken seriously if you lie so often?

I'm a bit confused.

3) 35 years
4) Natural born citizen [kind of a correction to (1) in the OP]

Thanks for correcting me. So with all that bar is high enough?

The bar is not natural born citizen and 35 years. The bar is set by voters.

Any Limit for lies?

Depends on what is getting called a lie, there is a ton of gray area in most statements. If you look at a site like politifact, 90% of the stuff they judge is either an opinion or unverifiable and they use their judgement to quantify it as a lie, truth, or in between. But very few lies actually exist from and objective perspective

Sure. I like to see discussion what are "must have" attributes for president. President should be respected in domestic field and also in those fly-over-countries? How media is viewing Trump, it's not even close to respecting Trump (what's mostly domestic issue). When it comes to EU / Asia, it might be hard to deal with Trump and trust him. When Trump was bragging in UN, people took it as joke.

That's not mostly a domestic issue.

You could add 3) An enormous amount of money. 'Democracy' doesn't come heap in the USA. Presidential campaigns require hundreds of millions of $s to be spent on TV advertising alone.

Trump is still getting most of critics from fellow Americans. When it's about lying all the time, it's globally well known fact - so it's not domestic issue anymore.

In regard to unflattering press, I think there's just as much outside the US as inside.

Presidency for sale? (pick one candidate, donate enough, so you get someone working for you). That's so much fun. Please tell me, it's not like that.

You must consider scale. The US is nearly 100 times the size of Finland in both population and geography. It's the population and size of all of Europe. Imagine the richest of every country in Europe being involved in an election Europe-wide for executive power over the entire continent.

It's a lot more money involved than a state of your size.

That's scary. Plutocracy took democracy from US? I hope people vote candidate who's not just working only for 1% - should be vice versa. Working for 99% should be much better scenario. Maybe presidency should be neutral and not being part of any party movement. Cut all ties when candidate get elected.

Well, people like to use all sorts of scare words. But the bottom line is someone living in a tiny country can't really conceive of the scale of a US election and thereby understand the costs involved.

The US has had a naturally high bar through previous elections. The basics you mention as being part of the constitution (age and naturally born) simply decide who can run. There are two elections to survive that provide the higher bar (primary and general).

Unfortunately, by a fluke of who ran and the climate of the last election, we were faced with a choice of two criminals. The biggest mistake of our system was to be set up for 2 parties. Those parties have become so talented at trashing each other that people are either so polarized that they will vote for anyone with the right letter by their name or they have given up on real governing entirely.

There are multiple movements that are almost all gaining momentum to change this system, but they haven't succeeded yet. We just hope to have a real choice in the coming election or a better system for the one following.

I like to see more diversity in US politics. As typical tree hugger (I voted Greens) I like to see green party (GPUS) getting more seats in US senate. Will take long time to have more than 2 parties (with some real power) around. Our greens took 6 more seats in last election and getting more popular among well educated people.

Now there is some interesting policies, like UBI, Healthcare for all, higher minimum wage, taking climate change seriously. My guess is Trump is going with MAGA narrative. I'm waiting debates and I like to see how it's going for Trump - also lot of bragging, smearing, all that circus. It's fascinating to watch.

Trump is ignorable in the sense that he has been halted just by giving him opposition to scream against instead of really making a difference anywhere.

Unfortunately, the green party will always have limited progress because they battle basic common sense and logic. As much as our education does it's best to mimic indoctrination, there is always the barrier of analysis and self-education. However, any progress for a third party is some cause for hope. Until we get rid of the plague that is the electoral college, however, we will not be moving beyond the idiocy that currently rules our government. A seat or two in senate or congress doesn't get us there.

It doesn't serve any intelligent agenda, however, to give up hope. A rational party may well make enough progress that they can make notable progress in the general election if enough states sign on to the NPV or something similar.

Only a Proportional Representation system ensures more 'diversity' on politics - and constant coalitions that no one actually voted for. The US would need constitutional amendments before it could change to PR and that is not going to happen.

(I would voter for the Flat Earth Party before I voted Green, Sorry Finnfox, sorry St Greta.)

What's wrong with Greens? :)

Not much is wrong with Greens. They are no worse than any other peddlers of distortions, half truths, lies and fake 'evidence'. And I am not a bit concerned about their posturing, preening, virtue signaling self-righteousness.

Btw did you know that St Birgitta has been replaced as patron saint of Sweden by St Greta?

I'm a bit confused.

1. The minimum requirements for someone to be the President of the United States are listed in the Constitution. That's it... There are no other requirements.

2. What it takes for a person to get elected is a completely different issue. It's all about Electoral College votes. It depends upon campaigning and on strategy.

3. What a President does depends on policy and politics.

About the lies.

Question: Who are you going to believe...the person accused of lying, when that person denies lying? Or the person who does the accusing...when they lie about the lying? This is important if you want to force the President to resign.

Answer: It doesn't matter. Each person must make up their own mind. Each person has only one recourse: Their vote. So...if you believe the accuser, vote against the liar. If you believe the accused, vote for the accused.

btw, one measure of how effective Trump is, is by looking at how far those who oppose him are willing to go. Think about it...

That (bolded above) is obvious.

No matter how good they are when they start out, all political parties will end up like the two that we currently have. Three parties is not really better than two when they are what they can only be; factions that by design disenfranchise those not in that party.
