Minimum requirements for POTUS

35, natural born citizen, 14 year residence. Nationality is not a requirement.

You're correct. You're confused.

Actually you are a bit confused on the reading:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The resident clause comes after the requirement of first being a natural born Citizen, i.e., you may have been born in the US but moved elsewhere and not have lived here, hence the requirement of being a resident within the US for a minimum of 14 years. Nationality is the first requirement, age and residency are sub-requirements to that.

1) US nationality
2) Enough votes from Electoral college.

Is there anything else?

Presidency is really different in other countries, like our president (Sauli Niinistö) don't want to mess with domestic politics (I think he should, even little bit). So Sauli is more like face of Finland and helping with all diplomatic issues. Talking with other leaders and so on. Tump is interested in what? Making America Great Again? How many % American Greatness improved in Trump's era?

Lying has to be mandatory habit in US, because Trump just reached 10.000 lies and everything is OK, nothing matters.

I have an idea, just set up a limit how many times POTUS can lie and when it's more than that he must resign ASAP. Like 15.000 lies / 4 years. How anyone can be taken seriously if you lie so often?

I'm a bit confused.

The leftwing Democrat MSM and press has told MILLIONS of lies. Does that bother you?

You miss my point.

The crap comes from all sides.

That means, if you are going to stop listening to Trump, you also need to stop listening to the Trump haters.

I disagree. Donald J. Trump is the absolute MASTER of crap. It's constantly spewing from his tweeting thumbs or that little cake hole in his face. Every. Single. Day.

I would add that any candidate has to have held some politically elected office for at least 4 years so we have some idea where they stand on the issues and that they actually understand how our government works.

That was SO not the case with the current president.

You miss my point.

The crap comes from all sides.

That's not new. What's new is a blatant BS'er con man being elected POTUS.

That means, if you are going to stop listening to Trump, you also need to stop listening to the Trump haters.

If they get caught lying, I discount them. Repeaters get ignored, as I did with Trump until he became POTUS.

Now Trump's BS can have consequences. Remember tweets about pulling out of Syria? The Pentagon has to react to that stuff.

again, you miss my point.

All this nonsense about lies here, lies there...it's all crap.

Or Obama showing his hand with troop withdrawals?

Try to keep up with Finland, we'll do the same here.

Well, guess what happened when government messed up with new healthcare plan? Government clowns resigned, not just some of them, all clowns. We're not good at keeping up if we can't even keep our government from resigning. Now folks are trying to build new government after election, that will take some time.

Or Obama showing his hand with troop withdrawals?

But Obama...

yeah, I didn't agree with his Syria policy.

The point was that Trump dictates policy with tweets, the Pentagon listens and acts, then cooler heads cause Trump not to go through.

I think we're talking about the qualifications for being POTUS.

That is just it. The “qualifications” are outlined in the Constitution, what we use to “qualify” a President in political terms to obtain a vote are entirely different.

Different country. We'd like to keep it that way.

Ridiculous. No one "decides" what the truth is except liars. Facts are facts, truth is truth (no matter what Giuliani says), and the truth is that since he took office, Trump has made more than 10,000 statements that were either very misleading or outright lies.

No, that's a lie. The greatest one of all. And one that is designed for the gullible and simple minded to swallow whole.

BTW, to sooth your embarasement, check out the link below.

I think the research is incomplete, but it vaporizes your argument.

What to do now?

Washington Post’s 10,000 Trump untruths is about 25% fake news - MarketWatch

President Donald Trump, according to one well-publicized tally, has told 10,000 whoppers during this presidency.

His falsehoods include such incredible claims such as accurately stating the number of new jobs since the election. Or Trump saying he signed executive orders that he did, in fact, sign. Or claiming that Sen. Bernie Sanders, who wants corporate taxes to increase, worker wages to rise, and stock buybacks to end, wants 401(k) values to “dissipate.”

If those don’t sound so fraudulent, that’s because they’re not. The Washington Post’s count of what it calls “false and misleading statements,” and what other media outlets quickly short-handed to “lies” by Trump, is itself inflated.

It would seem a lot of gullible minions have been feasting on fake news fed to them by profit seeking propagandists who have their number.

Ouch. That left a permanent mark....:lamo

Different country. We'd like to keep it that way.

I'm just wondering why US is grown so fast and to other direction compared to other western countries. It's like island with unique rules of life. I just heard weird story, not sure how common incidence this is, but one man fell to the ground and he took pretty bad hit. When people talked about calling ambulance (it looked that bad), that man was stopping them by saying "no ambulance", even when there is enough reasons to do so. I don't know what happened next, it's just interesting story.

I can't think that's even possible where I live or even in any European country.

When I was 15 or 16 years old, I hit one boy by biking, boy was also with bike, going uphill. Cycle path was pretty full and I didn't see this boy early enough. It wasn't really bad accident, but at that point I saw that my reflector was broken and boys head was bleeding a bit. Plastic reflectors pieces cut through foreheads skin. I can't even remember who called ambulance, but there is no way in hell that people would say "no ambulance". In situation like this, you can't be sure if it's serious or not (luckily it wasn't in this case), so calling ambulance, get some real diagnostics, x-ray, etc.. whatever is reasonable in current situation.

Then back to that falling to ground, if it's happening here. First aid skills should be mandatory skill, but only 300000 out of 5,5 million get once / year first aid practice (short courses). For me it's work related must have skill, so it's not optional like it is most of people here. So in that case we saw someone falling on the street and hurt badly (like hitting head to asphalt) - some people will go and find out what's going on (like guys did in US, in that story). Here people may not even ask if ambulance is needed, because of this "we don't know enough" mentality.

That's one interesting difference :)

And your point is?

The answer is FREEDOM.

Why not call ambulance when it's most likely best thing to do in that situation.

Not a bad idea, but from the sound of your description, it was his choice.

2) Enough votes from Electoral college.

Does everybody understand that presently when the Electoral College counts all the votes for the presidency, the rule applied is that the "Winner takes all" of the EC-votes?

Which means, if you did not vote for the winner, your vote goes into the dustbin. Whether Rep or Dem, the winner TAKES ALL THE VOTES OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE in each state of the nation.

That's how five times in American history, the EC individually reported its vote to Congress, and Congress declared the minority popular-vote candidate won the winner! (No other developed democratic nation on earth allows such to determine the Head of government. Only the winner of the Total Popular-vote is elected!)

Anyone care to explain how manipulating the Popular-vote (by effectively negating the vote for minority party candidates) should be permitted in any real democracy. Because it is unfair and should be by law unjust.

And, please, just because it is "historically" that way does not make it right, correct or acceptable ... !

I understand your concern but I think the electoral system was placed to make sure that the elected politicians will work for the benefit of every state and not just the states with majority of people.
