I confess, I voted for Trump; but I had no choice!

Heh. Well anyway, in personal terms nothing is lost, as far as I'm concerned. I'm good with you, but I do call things as I see them. Sometimes I call good, sometimes I call bad, depending on what I see.

I've had a couple challenges in my life that I was only able to overcome by brutal (self) honesty. Consequently, I made it a way of living.

Why? Because no other Presidential Candidate has ever acknowledged both the internal and external forces that have been systematically dismantling the foundation of our nation's sovereignty and freedom.

No other candidate has so wholly embraced online conspiracy theories and right wing talking points. The danger to the republic comes from people like him, not outside.

Either you didn't read my entire post, or your post demonstrates cognitive dissonance of the written word (lack of comprehension skills and deductive reasoning), or the post itself is intentionally obtuse. You describe the left, not Republicans, because the left's (you used the word "Democrats" not me) violence and rebellion goes well beyond wearing ***** hats or peacefully marching.

Sorry, I claim no responsibility for the words you clearly posted:
The US survived them, and the US will survive Trump.

The question remaining is whether the politicians in both parties will go so far afield that blood runs in the streets. The left is the one that riots, burns, and loots when they don't get their way. But, you ain't seen nothin' yet compared to what it will look like if it gets so bad that the average Republican takes to the street; just the thought of that is the very reason that the Democrats have been trying to take their guns from them.

The left do not riot and burn and loot. Those are the actions of extemists representing many schools of radical thought. So your analogy is off to a very bad start. You quite clearly stated that "if it gets bad" the average Republican will take to the street and that we ain't seen nothing yet. Then a ridiculous conjecture that democrats are trying to disarm Republicans to reduce carnage?

So rather than critique my comprehension skills, maybe you can try to explain what you meant to say, if not what your clearly said.

When someone implements a Marxist agenda like Obama's, one hopes for incompetence.

There was no Marxist agenda. Please try to stay credible.

Yeah, but Trump is in a class by himself!

I pretty much agree, but I don't feel there is as much separation as many here like to portray it as. The only real difference is Trump is too stupid to hide it as well as other politicians.

I honestly don't know how any rational person can listen to his speech patterns and not realize he has a serious mental disorder going on.

but .... but .... but .... Hillary!!!!!!!!!!

Let's face it folks; trying to dismiss Trump as "eccentric" takes the definition to a whole new level.

I'm sure a lot of my fellow "deploribles" will agree that being a Trump Supporter can be difficult.

He's obviously a bit gruff with crude mannerisms and can be totally belligerent at times without warning.

Most of all; Donald Trump is without a doubt the absolute worst public speaker ever elected to POTUS.

And being totally aware of this before the election why would I say I had no choice but to vote for Trump?

Why? Because no other Presidential Candidate has ever acknowledged both the internal and external forces that have been systematically dismantling the foundation of our nation's sovereignty and freedom.

No other candidate; whether Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or whatever, has ever even dared to discuss the taboo issues or solutions that might actually make America great again.(for lack of a better term)

So; yes I would prefer a smooth talking President with a beautiful face and friendly smile who could blow sunshine up the butts of all those doubter/critics and convert them to loyal deplorible followers.

But; until that well-mannered, debonair, silver tongued, saint comes along complete with Trump's agenda, commitment, and energy; we'll just have to settle for 'mr belligerent' awhile longer.

ie; It's a matter of the most basic priorities:
Do you want a pretty president who talks good?
Or one who knows what needs done and does it?

I'd take either, at this point.

A vote for Hillary or Trump flies in the face of electing a honorable person to the oval office.

There is no excuse for voting for either of them.

Sorry, I claim no responsibility for the words you clearly posted:
Don't misrepresent the words and we'll have no problems.

The left do not riot and burn and loot. ...
Beginning with this laughable claim, the remainder of this post is just as idiotic as the post's first statement, that anyone would require you to claim responsibility for anyone else's words, when the truth is it's your post's inability to understand, comprehend, and then honestly represent what the words of others actually do say.

I see no reason to continue to converse in this line.

I'm not surprised you'd like to drop the conversation, as you have not made a bit of sense, and the defense is rather pathetic. Have a nice day.

Do you want a pretty president who talks good?
Or one who knows what needs done and does it?

And you got neither.

Spare me your little pity party about how you had "no choice." You had a choice, and you chose a criminal asshole who is personally profiting from the presidency in a way nobody ever has. He lies incessantly, especially to promote his little vanity project on the southern border that won't do jack shit to stop illegal immigration or the drug trade. He's Putin's bitch. He's surrounded himself with morons, yes-men and grifters. He's an utter embarrassment on the international stage, kissing the asses of dictators like Putin, Erdogan and Duterte while pissing all over our traditional, natural allies.

"Commitment and energy." PUH-LEEZE. He's lazy. He does virtually no work. It's amazing how badly this guy has suckered so many. Trump supporters are the most gullible people on the planet.

a-you had a choice
b- he isn't the worst public speaker, he just ad libs while others read.
You had plenty of choice. And if you had used it then, you would not need to be developing streams of BS now to make yourself feel better. JMO.
You had a choice & you made the wrong one. I just hope the U.S. is stll here in 2 years so we can vote to end this.
There are several choices. Not voting can be a choice, if there are no good candidates. That was my choice in 2016. I could not vote for Clinton and I was certainly not going to vote for Trump, so I chose to not vote for anyone for president.
And you got neither.

Spare me your little pity party about how you had "no choice." You had a choice, and you chose a criminal asshole who is personally profiting from the presidency in a way nobody ever has.
Please allow me to explain...The reason I had "no choice" wasn't for lack of an opposing candidate.

It was because Trump was the only candidate to address the issues that were at the top of my list of importance.

Not only did he address the issues; he was the only candidate to offer common sense solutions that I agreed with.

All other candidates were wrapped up too tight in Political Correctness to even address them much less deal with them!

I'm not about to apologize for my vote for Trump.

I had two choices. Clinton or Trump. As far as I am concerned I chose correctly.
You may have misunderstood my point, Vesper.

This thread is in no way an "apology" for voting for Trump.

Like you, I simply explained the reasoning behind my decision.

I fought Trump all the way to the convention. I was involved in the anti-Trump movement to have him removed. But when reality set in, I had two choices and I made the right choice.

While Trump isn't an eloquent speaker and at times can be so honest makes both sides of the aisle uncomfortable, he in two years has basically overturned just about everything Obama and the left did to this country in 8 years. He has pretty much erased it. And being someone who felt Obama's policies/ideology were very bad for this country and often unconstitutional I am delighted with the results.

He has passed bi-partisan legislation on things people talked about for years but never got together and did it like prison reform and VA reform. That man has gotten more done in two years that most presidents don't accomplish in a full term.

One of the greatest tasks a president has is nominating jurists to the Supreme Court. And Republicans are delighted in his choices. They are constitutionalists. He in two years has already had an impact on the face of the courts.

He has also gone against big Pharma which some in his own party don't like. But has lowered prescription prices. Hubby and I are both senior citizens and we saw a big deduction in the cost of medication.

He's gone against the Chamber of Commerce who fills the coffers of many Congress critters to keep our boarders more open for cheap labor.

He has gone against members of his own party and found support among some Democrats when it comes to trade.

He has gone against members in his own party to start to bring our troops home.

The guy has done stuff I never imagined. His desire to keep his promises to the American people is refreshing. And come 2020 all the 30 some possible Democrats running don't impress me. And I would not hesitating in voting for Trump again.
I have never seen a president so hellbent on keeping his promises. How refreshing.
This two year Anti-Trump/Hate Campaign orchestrated by the Democrat Party/Establishment Republicans and fed by the Progressive Fake News/MSM failed to brainwash a significant number of Americans that are now loyal Trump Supporters.

A group which many believe has continued quietly growing its support base with covert converts.

Yes, there it is. Anyone who doesn't like Trump is brainwashed!

Wanna know what's really amazing?!

How the gullible liberal masses so thoroughly got suckered in by two years of perpetual propaganda, lies, fake news, and corrupt government agencies, all of which are the same standard socialist tactics used throughout history despite the availability and easy access to the countless books and writings by a multitude of Marxist authors and revolutionaries.

Marxist authors that glorify government while teaching the tried&true methods of political subversion and ideo-indoctrination,(which the gullible liberals repeatedly fall for) and finally the beautiful Utopia where all wants and needs are provided by a benevolent government in which you people will place all your trust in to decide your lives.

If the left wins; this will be the future and you and yours will be the truly amazing suckers.

SHORTER EMPIRICA: Nuh uh, you're gullible

The funny thing is that the "two years of lies" is that the lies have been coming from Trump. The news coverage of him has been remarkably accurate, all things considered. Despite what your Orange God tells you, it ain't "fake news" that he's a corrupt POS.

The rest of your post is utter gobshite.

You assume he wanted the presidency to make America better

He wanted the presidendency to be president. Period.

Since he was such an underdog, there wouldn't even have been a downside for him...he'd still have bragging rights over 'taking on the Establishment'.

And he never even believed he'd win so he was not remotely prepared to follow thru. So you fell for a bunch of pandering and rhetoric that he just used to do exactly has your observed: seem 'different.'

As if 'different' is by definition better :doh

His populous shared policies, 1st term accomplishments, and all those anti-Trump establishment elites dedicated to destroying him; very much dispels your opinion.

Which is pretty much the same ideo-political opinion promoted by desperate Progressive MSM/Democrat Elites and Establishment GOP Hierarchy which have obviously all been your primary influence for years; maybe even decades.

Maybe if you were to re-focus all that energy and observation at the ideo-political struggle for control of civilization which has been underway for well over a century, you might awaken to what few others have discovered about the true nature of the global forces involved.

But 1st you'll have to vacate the comfort and safety of the BOX and begin the lonely quest for 'truth' as opposed to the usual search for only that which validates your current reality.

This will of course require the one thing most difficult for any human being to ever hope to obtain...An open mind.

Yes, there it is. Anyone who doesn't like Trump is brainwashed!
That's ridiculous Kobie...The left has been brainwashed since long before Trump came along.

The Progressive controlled News/MSM, Entertainment Industry, Academia, and Teachers Unions have been indoctrinating the gullible masses for generations.

Did you actually believe that millions of people woke up one morning and all on their own decided they hated the US Constitution, capitalism, and basically everything American?!

Paleeze!

Many believe that, because many are wrong. "Covert converts." LOL.
People are being fired from their jobs, verbally assaulted and even physically assaulted; simply for supporting Donald Trump.

So are you laughing at the idea of there being Trump converts or simply that people would do so on the down-low?

The "two years of lies" your left-wing Fake News Media has been force-feeding to the gullible masses for two years nonstop is so extremely flawed that it's ridiculously obvious.

Only the simplest of minds can't figure out that the majority of those "lies" are actually the result of Trump being the most accessible President in US history and 80% of everything he says in public is ad-lib and spontaneous.

Trump is obviously no politician and undoubtedly the least graceful public speaker in the history of politics.

Even a double-digit IQ could figure out that a mix of spontaneity and ad-lib with a handicap at public speaking opens the door to false accusations of lying, memory issues, stupidity, and ignorance.

These things make Trump a prime target for political adversaries and dishonest agenda-driven News Media.

Pro-Trumps know this and ignore the rhetoric while Anti-Trumps believe anything that feeds their hate.

It amazes me how ignorant you are of what liberals actually believe, instead choosing to spout off your idiotic lies that have been crammed into your face by Rush Limbaugh.

The truism holds: With conservatives, it's always projection.

You're obviously in denial of the 21st Century beliefs, expectations, and rhetoric of your ideopolitical comrades.

Or just stuck in a 1960 time-loop with a JFK style Democrat Party waving Old Glory and singing God Bless America.

Are you sure this isn't supposed to be comedy? You are laughably ridiculous.
Yep, and I'm also sure that "laughably ridiculous" is in the eye of the beholder.

I have a wise friend once said....

"The truth needs little explanation."

Too bad you need to explain "the truth" to yourself in such a verbose way, proving essentially that you're lying your ass off, to yourself. That's not something to take pride in.

I had no choice either.Unlike the liberals I love my country.

Clearly voting for trump was not evidence of love of ones nation

I'm confused; what makes one a "good public speaker." Trump is perfectly capable of speaking in public without issues...

I won't agree he is the worst public speaker. When he wants to, he can read a polished, professional speech off a teleprompter as well as any other politician, past or present. And it comes across as polished and professional as well as pedantic and usually boring when he does it.

His preferred style, and the one people respond to by the tens of thousands who attend his rallies wherever he goes, is purely extemporaneous. He probably has a list of points he wants to hit on the podium but for the most part what he says is extemporaneous, from the heart.

He is a Type A extrovert and his mind is always racing ahead of his words which accounts for all the unfinished sentences and half-expressed thoughts. You get the same kind of thing in a fast-paced spirited gabfest with friends.

He is neither partisan nor politician, or at least he is no poll tested, polished, politically correct politician. People respond to him because he has presented a vision that no other leader has offered us in a very long time, a vision that actually fixes problems, addresses real issues, and accomplishes things instead of just spouting stuff to get elected and then kicking it all down the road for somebody else to deal with.

And those who responded to that vision now know he is trustworthy to actually do--at least give it his all in an honest attempt to do what he said he would do--as candidate Trump. He has been more faithful to keep campaign promises than anybody in my increasingly lengthy lifetime.

So he poses questions and thoughts of ideas he is thinking about or wondering what would happen if they did this or that. But once a decision is made, he has been pretty darn accurate in how it needed to be approached which of course is often completely different from the status quo we expect from the polished politicians of the permanent political class.

So yes he is an imperfect person, sometimes annoying and frustrating, sometimes positively cringe worthy, but I will take somebody like that any day who actually loves America and intends to fix what's broken and get done what needs to be done and is actually doing that over the professional politician any time.

His enemies attack him personally. His supporters look at what he is accomplishing and the difference that is making for Americans, America, and the American hope and possibilities.
