A narrow GOP House will make the Republicans look feckless when they have trouble passing bills. What if the Democrats in the House become totally unhinged and turn off the average voter? I wonder if something like a 220 D, 215 R House would accrue to Trump's and even the GOP's favor.

We shall all find out in a couple weeks time.

Republicans have looked feckless for decades.....until late last year. Trump has shown them how to win. McCain is dead. Flake, Corker and Ryan are retiring and somehow without McCain's "leadership", Mitch, Lyndsey and Susan have found a spine.

Looking forward to next 2 years.

Not sure.
It depends how organized the Democrats are, and how much the issues in their own party effect things.

There are, for example, going to be at least a few democrats who ran on a platform that included pointedly not taking donations from any corporation or PACs that receive funds from corporations.

And some (bit of overlap there) who ran saying they'd push for Medicare for all, getting rid of ICE, and other issues.

Thus to a degree they may not go along with the party as a whole, on everything.

As the GOP has show, any majority, is a majority worth having.

You don't have to have a massive majority to get things down. With both parties being very partisan, this is especially true.
