Begs the question why is she a member of a party that does not understand her.

Doesn't she have any self respect?

Sounds like fraud.

  1. [*=1]Perhaps because she's Churchillian about the Democratic party....

Democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.

[*=1]I don't know that the Democratic party doesn't understand her. I'm not aware of anyone's having so asserted on behalf of the DNC. Are you?

I lived in Minnesota for five years and spent a lot of time in North Dakota as well.
I think it was a bit harsh for her to bash the party however I haven't been back since the 1980's so perhaps I do not have a current frame of reference for the political mood up there.
Minnesota Dems are fairly independent, and so too are North Dakotan Dems and they always have been.

Frankly, I think more voters want to effect a Congress that can and will act as a check and balance on Trump, and though I cannot say to what extent that sentiment pervades ND-ans, if it's indeed a preponderant notion among them, it's not as though ND Dems and others having that mindset have much of a choice given the two party dominance in our political system and the current Congress' reticence to stand up to Trump.

Although my frame of reference might be outdated, I daresay that North Dakota Democrats most closely identify with Minnesota DFL (Democratic Farm Labor) and if you hew to that platform, you're probably going to do rather well.
But I could be wrong. :)
