Why did Donald Dork reduce yet again Income Taxation - which has become a "fad" of Replicant presidents? The above caption shows why.
Money works in politics. The question that most intrigues is, "But, why?"
The traditional answer is that money is crucial to buy TV-time. So, that's what's happening?
We are "selling" politicians like soap-detergent where they all "wash whiter than white"?
There is an element of truth in that answer. As a nation, we seem to be sooooo hooked to the BoobTube that the real "boob" becomes ourselves. What twits we are to believe that TV commercials can convey sufficient information upon which a vote as important as a PotUS or even a member of Congress.
The real truths, like that quoted above, are not on TV. We know who owns those information channels and why. Who owns Fox News? An Australian who became an American and then flew off to Britain to become a Brit, and now owns a news-colossus perpetually applied to manipulating elections on both continents.
When in fact news outlets of any kind should remain perfectly neutral - neither Left nor Right, but in the Center. But in America, where Muney-Means-Everything, one can be assured that there is no election that is not money-centered. It is that important to get-the-message-out that will get a candidate elected - and a twenty-second commercial is more than enough necessary time. Really? Wow!
What a shame. Where's the debate? We Yanks don't like debate! Just "get it done" and move on.
Yes, well that is also the sort of political system we have. It's all about the money, and rarely about "Hey, where the hell are we going as a nation ... ?!?"
If you look at the 2016 presidential campaign, between Trump and Hillary, Hillary had the most money. The Clinton campaign raised $1.191 Billion, which was less than Obama raised in 2012. the Trump campaign raised $647Million and he still won. Money is needed, however, Trump demonstrated that money alone, is not the answer.
The overreaction to Trump getting even more money, is connected to the business projections of the media, ad agencies, advertisers, lobbyist and to all the overpaid Washington strategists, who make a windfall during each election cycle. Trump set a dangerous precedent of less money to win.
The fear now on the left is, what would happen if Trump raised the same money as the Democrats; say $1.2billion in 2020, plus, Trump gets to use his celebrity, personal charisma and a good economy for his reelection? The fear of the left and main stream news, is this would be a disaster in terms of Democrat donors, betting large sums of money on a Democrat. They need to limit Trump to half or less money, to make it competitive so donors pony up.
There is way too much money in the election process. The negative result of too much money for TV and internet propaganda, manipulation and mud slinging, are the people who get elected, are the best actors, entertainers and bull crap artists but not the most qualified for the job. The reason so many things get kicked down the road in Washington, is because Washington has too many actors in office, and not enough statesmen.
I like the idea of a National Election Bee. This will make good TV and internet, so no donor money would be needed by the candidates. It will be broadcast for free, since TV time will pay for itself with advertisers.
An Election Bee could begin at the city level, with a competition in each city (or town), throughout the country. Anyone, who meets the basic qualifications, can run and debate in their home city tournament. This would be awesome. The winner of the city level contests will then meet in the county championships.
The city winners, going to their Counties, will be prepped by their former city tournament competitors. This will broaden their views and if they win the counties, this will brings honor to their entire city. So ,the city works together to prep their champion. The winner of the Country level, then competes in the State Championships, prepped by their county mates from all sides. The winners then go to the national regionals, and then the national semifinals, and then to the final two; road to the final two.
By then, the final two Presidential candidates are very well educated, very well seasoned and their views reflect the will of all the people. Donors are not needed.
