Hillary’s ‘Sure’ Victory Explains Most Everything
A final paradox: Why did so many federal officials and officeholders act so unethically and likely illegally when they were convinced of a Clinton landslide? Why the overkill? The answer to that paradox lies in human nature and can be explored through the hubris and nemesis of Greek tragedy — or the 1972 petty burgling of a Watergate complex apartment when Richard Nixon really was on his way to a landslide victory. Needlessly weaponizing the Obama FBI and the DOJ was akin to Hillary Clinton’s insanely campaigning in the last days of the 2016 campaign in red-state Arizona, the supposed “cherry atop a pleasing electoral map.” In short, such hubris was not just what Peter Strzok in August 2016 termed an “insurance policy” against an unlikely Trump victory. Instead, the Clinton and Obama officials believed that it was within the administrative state’s grasp and their perceived political interest not just to beat but to destroy and humiliate Donald Trump — and by extension all the distasteful deplorables and irredeemables he supposedly had galvanized.

BINGO, it is so refreshing to hear a guy who understands how corrupt Washington is generally and how corrupt Clinton Corp is in particular.

Hubris ranks right up there with ignorance and incivility in the list of words that encapsulate modern America, an America that is spinning towards a certain colossal crash up against a wall.

I agree with hubris. I also believe that Hillary's camp knew she was a s*** candidate who was unable to relate, was not likeable, did not have a strong message and the nation suffered from Clinton fatigue. That, combined with deep down knowing that they and their minions could joke all they wanted, but Trump was a threat.
A real threat.

So you are arguing that this was not "Help her win by corrupt means because you know she will reward us after" but it was rather "We need to help her because she sucks".....

The problem with that argument is that once Team Clinton Corp found out that they were facing Trump they to a "man" acted like they were sure this was in the bag.

Also a problem is the multi decade record of Clinton Corp rewarding their friends no matter who those friends were or how they did it.

I think everyone helps a Presidential candidate in hopes of getting rewarded with a position in the administration and/or the West Wing, so I take that off the table.
Regarding the Clinton campaign's corruption, a fish rots from the head. I think it was just part of their culture. When Donna Brazile was caught red handed getting debate questions and feeding them to Hillary, Hillary said nothing and just let Brazile take the blowback.
I'm sure that sucked for Brazile, but she stayed until the end, despite finding out about Clinton funneling campaign funds away from the down-ticket candidates.

I think Clinton's team "signaled" with great unity that they had it in the bag, and of course her minions, Hollywood and media sycophants and Democratic pundits all had a jolly good laugh about Trump.
"Trump?" "Pfft...he'll never be President".
Like, no sweat off their backs, they got this in the bag, right?/

Not so fast.
But behind the scenes, I think they knew Hillary and her campaign were flagging on MANY levels and behind the scenes, her people were panicking.
Brazile herself wrote about poor turnout at rallies and a general lack of enthusiasm for the candidate. She had a bad feeling in her gut and admits as much in her book.

So, I don't disagree with your premise, I view it from a bit of a different lens.

People on the inside certainly understood clearly what a bad manager she is, and maybe what a bad politician she is, but my sense is that once they knew it was Trump they decided that none of that mattered, because this was Trump, this was easy, even Hillary can manage this.....which of course turned out to be wildly overly optimistic.

Evidence: Who did you hear from anywhere near Clinton Corp HQ objecting to Hillary taking Sep off?

It was Hillary's strategy. To run up the score and beat Obama's electoral vote count by adding not only Arizona, but Utah and Georgia to her column. She was so convince she could do that, that she left her own backyard open. She paid little to no attention to the so called blue wall states.

Yes corruption is endemic to Washington. Probably not so much in what I think you're referring to. But Lobbyist buying votes in congress via donations and other things, Same goes for corporations and wall street firms. One doesn't bite the hand that feeds you.

Good question!
I think part of that decision was the Clinton team collectively taking their foot off the gas (really, really bad idea when Trump was the Engergizer Bunny flying his YUGE jet hither, tither and yon to campaign almost non stop) because of the polls.
That was a critical mistake.
Further, I think Hillary was flagging physically and also, focusing on fund raising with her Hollywood elite donors. She was road weary, and yeah, maybe cocky.
Remember when Trump called her out during a debate, asking where she'd been before the debate while he was campaigning his ass off?
Hillary claimed to be prepping for the debate, but I think she needed down time, plain and simple.

Surely you heard as I did sep/oct 2016 from the left "We need to not just beat this asshole Trump, we need to humiliate him, and his followers"...it was not just Clinton. After listening to all the mocking Obama did, all the not taking Trump seriously Obama did, and knowing the long record of Clinton Corp rewarding friends no matter what they did and destroying enemies ....that is that according to Clinton Corp Clinton Corp comes first surely all of the cog turners had reason to expect to be rewarded for helping in the humiliation of Trump, no matter how they did it.

Surely you see how this was special, because this was Clinton and this was Trump, so likely the corrupt acts were above and beyond the recent normal corruption.

Which makes the Trump/Russia collusion hyperventalization even more obscene then it would have been in normal times.

Because the really big crimes were committed by those in the establishment.

What did she have to be weary from, she had never put in much work. She was sick this is true, but also she was sure that she was going to be President and she was getting a jump start on the Obama practice of using his celebrity to hang out with the fun hip people..... she did not think that she needed the money, that was not what this was about..... this was playtime for her.

But see no one hardly objected to this because they were with her on the opinion that The Arc Of History had fingered her as the next President.

And all those in the Establishment had reason to be confident that their crimes in the effort would be rewarded and covered up.

That is how Clinton Corp rolls.
