I meant that as ironic. Sorry I was not clear.

Its problematic. Gillibrand just sunk herself with the Franken deal, people in MN arent too happy with her. Gabbard might do well as she is a veteran as well. I think anyone from CA, male or female, is going to turn off a lot of people in much needed electoral states. They are just seen as too over the top liberal. Klobuchar might be good and possibly Patty Murray. Winning electorally is now the big thing so it might end up being a Tim Ryan from Ohio or Sherrod Brown needed to top the ticket. I still have visions of those UAW workers in MI saying they would never vote for a woman for president. There is still a lot like that.

A ticket based on gender. Sounds like a losing proposition.

I think Amy Klobuchar is the only Dem with a chance of getting the Dem nod, although Warren could cause a lot of damage to the party if she ran.

My prediction at this time is Biden/Klobuchar or Biden/Booker but we’ll see.

It was at night and nobody pissed in my Cornflakes. I would imagine that people would choose based on more than gender.

I can't imagine a female ticket that would win. Rice has already said she doesn't want to be president. Warren, (Fauxahontas) in any ticket, is a losing proposition. Clinton has had her shot but got caught with her hand in several cookie jars. Of course there is always Stein, another losing proposition. Kamala Harris is too much of a drama queen basket case. The best chance I can see for a woman on a ticket is Tusi Gabbard. She has some enemies in her party. Her candor isn't always appreciated. One woman does not make a ticket.

You could always run Pelosi and Waters, Kamala Harris and Wasserman-Schultzor maybe even Frederica Wilson with another person just as loony.

Yes, and who knows what they are doing. I think we have taken this "everybody can be president" experiment a little too far. Shouldn't be too hard to find someone who knows what they are doing, and also has scruples.
Agreed. If the Trump social experiment has proven anything, is that everybody CANNOT be president. Just because the Republicans decided to put a Reality T.V Star with ZERO political experience as their president, doesn't mean the Democrats should be looking for just anyone to be their next president.

IMO, what the Democrats need is a candidate that can drive the Democrat's base to the polls. Obama was able to do it in 2008 and 2012, and Clinton couldn't do it in 2016. Also, someone younger, IMO (sorry Biden, Sanders, and Warren).

    Re: 2020 Dem Female Ticket

Hi yankintx, if you mean a centrist within the context of the current Dem party, I disagree with the premise. For example, Kamala Harris or Amy Klobuchar could be considered centrists, but I don't think they are right for these desperate times. The only woman I would support in the primary would be Tulsi Gabbard. But if Bernie runs, I will support him in the primary. My rationale regarding not wanting a centrist at the top of the ticket is based on my belief that the general public is to the left of both parties. But I will concede that a centrist ticket might be able to beat Trump in 2020. But for me it is much more important that we elect a president who will finally do something serious about the climate crisis. Also someone who will roll back the disturbing militarism in the US.
