Expel Moore If He Wins, Voters Say Almost 2-1

Expel Moore If He Wins, Voters Say Almost 2-1

    Quinnipiac University
    From December 6 - 11

If Roy Moore wins the U.S. Senate election in Alabama and becomes a Senator, the Senate should vote to expel him, American voters say 60 - 31 percent. Republicans oppose expelling Moore 65 - 25 percent and white men are split 46 - 45 percent. Every other party, gender, education, age and racial group says expel him. Women say 67 - 24 percent that Moore should be expelled, and men agree 52 - 40 percent. Voters disapprove 63 - 21 percent of President Trump's endorsement of Moore. Republicans are the only listed group to approve, by an anemic 50 - 25 percent.

Voters disapprove 57 - 37 percent of the job President Trump is doing, consistent with findings for the last four months.

The Russian government tried to influence the 2016 presidential election, voters say 73 - 22 percent, including Republicans by a narrow 50 - 45 percent. Voters say 41 - 28 percent this interference changed the outcome of the election.

And American voters say 57 - 38 percent Trump has attempted to "derail or obstruct the investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election." By a narrow 48 - 44 percent, American voters say Trump did not collude with the Russian government to influence the election, but voters say 52 - 40 percent that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government.

Republicans in Congress put party over country, American voters say 74 - 19 percent. Republican voters are divided as 46 percent say their party puts country first and 45 percent say it's party first.

Democrats in Congress do a little less bad as voters say 60 - 34 percent that they put party over country. Democratic voters are more loyal to their leaders as they say 63 - 30 percent that they put country over party.
Once again (healthcare/taxes) Trump/GOP polling numbers for supporting Roy Moore for the vacant Alabama Senate seat are dismal.

In May and June of 2017 the Republican Congress attempted to disallow pre-existing conditions and strip healthcare from 24 million Americans. They failed by only 1 vote.

I really just hope Alabama does not elect him. That way, if the Congress does expel him, conservatives won't feel more emboldened then they already are.

Nope- better he get elected- then the Ethic Committee - then the Vote- then they are on record. 2018 is coming.
And we do know he has all kinds of repugnant things to say. Give him a national pedestal to rant on.

Though he would always have Bannon and trump in his corner

I actually support that as well, so don't go thinking you have your thumb on that pulse of that supposed 2-1 majority.

Trump endorsed Luther Strange over Moore in the primary and would likely also be happy to get Luther Strange back in that seat again.

You'd better be careful... you sound like you are supporting Moore in the Senate for political reasons.

Alabama will elect Roy Moore. Congress will not expel him, conservatives haven't even started yet on their "emboldenment".

The problem with expelling him if he wins is that he has not been convicted, he has been accused. I think you need more than accusations, no matter how likely, to take the step of expelling him.
