    Disruption is not Governing

I think Trump supporters are getting exactly what they wanted from the man they elected. He is disrupting the status quo. Our allies are losing trust in us and our enemies see no room for diplomacy. No coalition can come together to pass meaningful legislation. Executive orders are now being used to destabilize markets and lives. Cultural, racial, and ethnic divisions are openly fostered and encouraged.

And yet, until the realities of this disrupting personally hit home for the average Trump supporter, they will cheer it on with glee.

I'm not getting exactly what I wanted, but....more or less, yeah.

See, the thing is, I don't see us ever really getting away from the 2 party system. And those parties know it, and they use that to control our elections, by limiting our choices to only those who will "play ball".

My answer to that was Trump. I have inflicted this man upon our government as a punishment, and as a threat for future elections. In the next election, they'd better give us better choices, or God help us all, me, and many like me, will seek out someone even worse.

I think the general mentality of Trump supporters can be summed up with my dad's story. He's a life long Reaganesque conservative that really never wanted Trump in the first place (he wanted Cruz). He decided to vote for Trump because quote "The system is so ****ed up I want someone to burn it down so we can rebuild from the ashes."

The obvious issue with this mentality is that you're purposely electing someone you know is a buffoon with the express purpose of destroying your country. They HOPE it will be rebuilt in the way they want it to, but anyone who's ever opened a history book knows that's not how it's going to go. The Trump supporters are certainly basking in their schadenfreude as the monster they've created wreaks havok on our economy and further lowers our world standings in every category across the board.

This is a prime example of what I'm talking about. You did a protest vote ****ing over your country when you know good and well it's not going to change anything for the better. What fantasy unicorn land does one have to live in to think suffering 4 years of disaster as a nation will suddenly make our political system less rigged and more democratic?
