From the Guardian: Why Hillary Clinton was right about white women – and their husbands
-excerpt:
Clinton, who has had a lifetime to contemplate the women’s vote, copped to having a theory. “[Women] will be under tremendous pressure – and I’m talking principally about white women. They will be under tremendous pressure from fathers and husbands and boyfriends and male employers not to vote for ‘the girl’,” she said in an interview.

People might scoff at the idea that women vote based on what husbands and fathers tell them to do. And tens of millions of dollars in political messaging has been spent based on the assumption that women will vote collectively on equal pay, abortion, and other salient issues regarding women’s autonomy.

But social science backs up Clinton’s anecdotal hunch. “We think she was right in her analysis about women getting pressure from men in their lives, specifically [straight] white women,” said Kelsy Kretschmer, an assistant professor at Oregon State University and a co-author of a recent study examining women’s voting patterns.

The key distinction, according to Kretschmer’s research, is that single women tend to cast votes with the fate of all women in mind, while women married to men vote on behalf of their husbands and families (the study was based on a poll of straight women conducted in 2012, before same-sex marriage was legalized nationwide, and draws no conclusions about marriages where neither partner is a man).

Think the above is about right, ladies ... ?

I think it's BS.

Voting is private. Democrat men would probably support Hillary while GOP men probably didn't. It just broke down along party lines.

It's just that Hillary was so abrasive that she didn't really represent most women, in my opinion.

It has nothing to do with privacy, it has to do with relative influence.

You aren't really giving any reason to doubt the study or its implications.

Most women (in the world especially, but more so in developed countries) are no longer really dependent upon a man's income. See this from the Bureau of Labor Statistics here.

In a few highly select work-areas, women even surpass men in hourly earnings. But, for a good many others they earn about 80% of a male salary in the US.

Nonetheless, though financial dependence upon a man, if once prevalent, may not have yet changed as a norm with society in general. It will take (perhaps) as much as another generation to close the gap. Meaning more or less a few decades.

What should worry men, however, is not females only closing the wage-gap, but supplanting males in some jobs where they have the educational qualifications to do so. This need not happen should the economy progress in a manner such that all that want a job find a job in terms of educational level.

At present (Census Bureau data, 2015) the Male-Female educational-level breakdown looks like this:
Male Sex (Percentage)
*High school (88%)
*Some college (57.6)
*Associates Degree (41.2)
*Bachelors Degree (32.3)
*Advanced Degree (12)

Female Sex (Percentage)
*High school (88.8)
*Some college (60.1)
*Associates Degree (43.4)
*Bachelors Degree (32.7)
*Advanced Degree (12)

I had a woman I know tell me that even though she hated Trump she couldn't vote for Hillary because women have hormones and get too emotional.

I think that's absolutely true. A Republican woman isn't going to vote for Hillary because she's a woman. It's like Hillary never understood that she has been one of the biggest evils to right wingers for decades now. She had no concept of how difficult it would really be to flip them.

Exactly. Republican women were in her "deplorables" comment along with the men. I don't know of even one Republican woman who had a nice word to say about Hillary.

More junk from you.

Many women hate Hillary for staying with a disgusting womanizer, and harassing any woman who brought up being assaulted by him.

Then there are the Gold Star moms who lost kids in the sand box while she wasted American lives in Lybia without even offering a sorry. Military moms hate Hillary. The ones that watch the VIEW were her fan base.

She is a disgusting woman and a lot of people see her for what she is.

And americans will choose a disgusting man over a disgusting woman any day since Goldman Sachs always winds up in the white house "either" way..
