Implementing an immigration system that takes into consideration what is best for the average AMERICAN is a good start and Trump is doing the right thing there! Having an unlimited pool of no-skill immigrants to compete against Americans and that drive down wages is BAD for the average American.

Apparently, a sufficient number of swing voters in swing states didn't see it that way.

Can you provide examples of jobs immigrants are taking from native born Americans?

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

The opinion of those swing voters does not change the reality of a strong economy by almost every measure.

I started this thread because I've seen a multitude of threads lamenting voters for not picking Hillary. I didn't notice you admonishing them for discussing her.

Does this forum have an "ignore" option?

No, it just changes who lives in the White House.

When you have a mechanism that ignores the will of the American people, that can sometimes happen regardless of how strong the economy is.

I could, but I doubt you're open to the concept that immigration should be based on what's best for the average American, as opposed to what's best for a foreigner that wants to live here.
