Why Do Uneducated Poor White Americans Consistently Vote Republican?

I would argue lack of higher education, lack of sophistication, lack of world knowledge, religion, race and faux patriotism. Most of these people rarely leave the county let alone experience the world.

Oh no response. People sometimes think differently, it's called diversity. Now it's of opinion and not skin tone or sexuality but it's still there. Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they are stupid fat and poor. Have you ever considered they don't vote for the Democrat party because Democrats think they are stupid fat and poor?

It's hard to like somebody when they ridicule you in this way.

What are Democrat politicians so incredibly stupid to insult their potential voting base?

I have a helpful hint for you if you want to help Democrats win some more in the next election. Next time you have a thought... Let it go.

It don't, I'm not much of a fan of either party but I find Democrats more contemptuous at present.

I just think your posts are funny... that's all... lol

Pity, not bothering to try and understand people that think differently than you do is the foundation of all bigotry and prejudice. Reminds me a lot of how Catholics I knew treated me after I came out. I thought I'd have felt sorry for myself over that but it was then I felt sorry for.

I haven't said anything but laugh at your posts. Stop projecting stuff on me, and you think you're not prejudice at all? You have said plenty of offensive things towards me and an other Muslim on this site. Are you the only person in the world who matters or something?

No you posted responses showing me that you are laughing at my post. Seems odd that you are so desperate to dismiss me when you can just dismiss me.

Oh God no, I know I'm far from perfect. I've over come Prejudice it isn't easy but it must occur when you find yourself talking to our entering with someone you were Prejudiced against. Slowly you realize your preconceived notions are just that. Growth isn't easy but it's always worth it.
You have said plenty of offensive things towards me and an other Muslim on this site.
If I ever did offend you I sincerely apologise. Sometimes I say things in anger, that isn't an excuse it's just an explanation. I have absolutely no respect for Islam but that's mostly for the way it treats Muslims. Same with a lot of other various ideologies.
Are you the only person in the world who matters or something?
Well no of course not but it's sometimes talking with people that we think are our worst enemies that we actually find aren't the monsters we imagine them to be.

I really do mean what I said if I offended you on the basis of your faith in truly sorry. One thing I'm trying to learn is respect for different beliefs.

Yawn. The US was never intended by the founders to be a "true democracy." In fact, they were at pains not to create anything like that, and this has been taught at all levels.

It's just funny now... I love Americans and America but everyone's concepts on wtf this is or should be as a system of government is all bull crap. Look you get rid of this dumb ass college thing the GOP never wins an elections again. Look look at there recent historical data 2000 election bush not the total vote getter. 2016 Trump not the Total vote getter. The other fact about being loyal to your party just because? Is the only thing that will bring this great yet young nation with flaws down. The GOP shameful acts on display for a con artist and Hustler is just a sad status of where we are today.

You:

'Get rid of the electoral college because it would give Democrats an advantage.'

Also you:

'Requiring voters to show identification at voting polls would hurt Democrats, so its racist.'

Through demographics change, Democrats have become the immoral majority.

I think an awful lot of uneducated or minimally educated whites vote their prejudices and fears. These voters, if they vote at all, tend to vote Republican. Their lot in life doesn't change much regardless of which party has power so they repeat the same mistake over and over again. Most Americans who work for a living don't have the time to study issues or people who lead or aspire to lead. Ideas that revolve around happiness levels, quality of life, and the common good don't get much consideration. Loftier ideas fall victim to prejudice, and fear. Most people do vote their own self interest but self interest is not the same across education and income levels.

I'd say regardless of color, less educated people can be less self aware. This means they're less likely to recognize the difference between what they want and what they need and vote for a candidate who satisfies the former over the latter.

I know this because I was less self aware when I was less educated (before college, career and a lifetime of reading). I know now what I didn't know then and looking back, I lacked the awareness and self reflection in my youth to recognize what I didn't know.

Those with lower education in some ways never leave that stage because they've not had the guidance, opportunity or time to pursue further knowledge outside of satisfying immediate needs such as work and survival. Now for less educated whites that may manifest itself as support for a certain political party; for less educated minorities it often manifests itself as apathy and they don't vote at all. Nobody is faultless

Surely you are mentally challenged...

Because Republican values and their values tend to be similar. Rocket science!

This reminds me of the true story, which was on Facebook at the time the GOP and Trump were trying to gut Obamacare, when some white trash guy said, "Yeah, go Trump, down with Obamacare" and someone said "aren't you on Obamacare?" and the guy replied "No way, I'm not on any stinky Obamacare, I got a nice health plan through this thing called the Affordable Care Act."

People ask why poor uneducated whites vote GOP---in reality, this has not been a constant over the last 40 years. But that begs another question-why do high income Jewish voters prefer the high tax Democrats (at far higher percentages than poor whites favor the top)-especially since the most anti semitic groups are also Democrat party loyalists

Because your fascist party is even worse.

Because they are highly educated.

Because they are highly educated.

Yet for most of the last 100 years, the people most likely-in terms of educational levels-to vote for Dems, were HS drop outs. DO you claim highly educated people support big government because they want to run the lives of others-or use the expanded government to control people they think are stupid? That surely explains that voting pattern

Up until wide spread college education became available to the masses due to liberal programs, it is not a surprise that trends were different then as compared to today. I believe the main reason highly educated people reject the modern Republican party is that they see what has happened to it since the 70s. When it merged with the Moral Majority, you lost the intelligent voter.

I think lots of educated people reject the anti-intellectualism of the bible thumping movement. That sends them into the Democrat party camp. But I also think power hungry people who see themselves as "more worthy" than others, end up being Democrats as well.

Those of us who are confident of our own abilities to take care of ourselves, and who have no desire to run the lives of others-well we don't end up being part of the creeping crud of collectivization

If you haven't figured that out by now...seems you never will.

Your stupid throwaway lines don't get a pass from me. There are as many tenets of fascism in the crony capitalist reactionary parasitic statism of the Democrat party is there is in the corporatist or bible thumping sects of the GOP

You mean that those of us who see themselves as islands in a sea of people want to believe they are not part of a greater collective that benefits each and every one of us.

That is consistent with the "it takes a village" nonsense of reactionary parasitic statists like Hillary
