Why Do Uneducated Poor White Americans Consistently Vote Republican?

White/Black...Six of one...half dozen of the other...I rest my case! :giggle1:

Omg your making no sense. But I'll bite
So the black lady voted for a democratic and got a phone. Wtf does a poor white person whom im sure got an Obama phone too. Not to mention aca coverage. Yet they don't want Obama care and don't understand that the aca is just that. Bottom line what did the gop give to the poor whites whom vote for them?

:2usflag::2usflag:
Does anyone know how many people whom are on the Affordable Care Act and consider themselves conservative or just voted for Trump? :lamo
Why would you vote against your interest? Your pride is more important then your health? SMH wake up GOP.

Many of those Trump voters in States such as Kentucky were rather suprised the GOP were attempting to repeal the ACA. A case of low information voters.

Just as a matter of information Obama phones is a term cooked up by some Conservative political operative to create a narrative. It was highly successful as people still think it was real. The government had nothing to do with the creation of free and low cost cell phones. It was a program started by telecom companies over a decade ago. No tax payer money was used to create it. It is just more garbage from the right the same as the Birther nonsense.

I think an awful lot of uneducated or minimally educated whites vote their prejudices and fears. These voters, if they vote at all, tend to vote Republican. Their lot in life doesn't change much regardless of which party has power so they repeat the same mistake over and over again. Most Americans who work for a living don't have the time to study issues or people who lead or aspire to lead. Ideas that revolve around happiness levels, quality of life, and the common good don't get much consideration. Loftier ideas fall victim to prejudice, and fear. Most people do vote their own self interest but self interest is not the same across education and income levels.

Those voters may vote Republican because they have had it up to their keister with the constant barrage of criticism from Democrats who delight in blaming those voters' ethnicity for every single ill in this country.

You want to rewrite history build a time machine. Otherwise deal with the sins of your father's and mother's you think this blaming is bad just await your judgement day. Your Christians right? You will pay for the sins of your father's and mother's. Sucks for you.

Sounds like an excuse for them yet another Dem being to kind. Look vote your interest not your hate. It's a damn shame when more poor whites on . The affordable Care act... And will say I'd never be on Obama care. Just dumb crap.
Hey I voted for the rich white guy because he loves America like I do yet your poor and white he is rich. Has a super majority for 2 years passed a tax cut for the rich. Shuts down the government tells the poor whites hey hopefully you saved up for this. You get wtf you deserve at this point shame on you GOP shame.

Where civic life has crumbled, authoritarianism creeps inBy Andy Smarick

It’s no secret that civil society — the local, voluntary associations that knit together America’s communities — has been in retreat for decades. Numerous authors, including Robert Nisbet, Peter Berger, Richard John Neuhaus and Robert Putnam, have charted this decline. Now Timothy P. Carney’s excellent new book, “Alienated America,” shows what the disintegration of social connectedness has done to today’s most vulnerable individuals and communities. Carney also sheds light on contemporary politics by detailing how social isolation helped give rise to Donald Trump.
Carney, a conservative journalist and commentator, argues that Trump’s core supporters, especially those who backed him in the early primaries, have much to teach us about the role of community in politics. His analysis shows that Trump’s backing came disproportionately from places where the institutions of civic life had eroded badly. The disappearance of constructive, stabilizing connections in these locales has untethered individuals, making them susceptible to Trump’s apocalyptic “the American Dream is dead” refrain and demagogic “I alone can fix it” promise. By contrast, Carney observes, other reliably conservative areas — rich with civic life — were immune to Trump’s message. . . .

Poor whites aren't well educated and are easily duped with dog whistle propaganda that targets their fears and prejudices. Which is probably why the founders didn't want them to vote.

Why do uneducated blacks and uneducated Hispanics consistently vote democrat?

Because the GOP president and his supporters make excuses for white nationalists, and the party is all about white identity politics.

It's obviously a function of racism. White people all hate anyone from any other race but educated whites are smart enough to feel guilty about it.:doh

Sad and sick post. You obviously feel sorry for yourself as a white person. But the problem with your post is that all white people aren't the same, nor are all white people racist, and not being a bigoted racist had nothing to do with feeling guilty about your skin color.

A truly sick post

Dood is well aware of the facts...he did his ridiculous hit and run in the thread which cited the statistical fact that 75% of black boys in California fail to read to grade standard. Of course...his only response is, its someone elses fault. Why do so many blacks continue to vote democrat despite being so completely and consistently ****ed by the democrats? See the OP.

Why are people like you making this about race?

This video explains a lot...

You know a town is dying when the only Walmart closes.

It's sad what happened to the poor people in coal country...but I don't think their jobs are coming back no matter what Trump promised them. At least Clinton had a viable plan to help replace coal jobs with retraining programs and business incentives for clean energy jobs...and now they don't even have that. Sad.

But coal isn't the first industry to lose jobs to newer technology and industrialization and it probably won't be the last. Nothing stays the same forever.

Thanks for posting that video. It's very eye opening and very sad that that community is suffering so badly.

My feeling is that many of them will need to relocate to find jobs. It's a dying town. There are many places dying in America. My mom and uncle work shifts at a rural hospital, and rural hospitals are even suffering and facing financial issues. The people need health care, but the very poor can't pay the bills. Many hospitals face closing as a result. Mom says she sees a lot of drug ODs in the ER. Meth is moving in. Jobs are moving out.

America can deal and address the problems, but Trump is wrong to promise he will change the direction things are going in.

Because they believe what wealthy, powerful people tell them.Know that old saying, "If you're so smart, why ain't you rich?" Well, the other side of that coin is, "If you're so rich, you must be smart!"
That, and ignorance is where mindless obedience to authority is born.

He who knows the least, obeys the best.

I have heard that saying, and it's very problematic.

IRS says tax refunds are down almost 20 percent, and it's just the beginning of the season. For extremely poor and uneducated people, tax refunds are very helpful, but they are probably not educated enough to realize their refund decreased or understand why. Yes, they are getting screwed for corp and wealthy tax cuts, but they are so desperate for cash and uniformed, I highly doubt they will figure out how much they have been screwed over.

Education and intelligence are not one in the same. Although not always as verbally articulate, someone who has had to work and survive in the real world usually has much more common since and awareness that than a college graduate who has never worked outside academia, journalism, politics or a government bureaucracy.

Common sense is complicated. I think it's encompasses a lot of areas in life. Some people don't have common sense at all. Some people have it in some areas, but not others.

What makes you think that they do? Is it everyone in the middle of the country white poor and undereducated to you?

Why do Democrats despise middle America?

Lol....
