Why Do Uneducated Poor White Americans Consistently Vote Republican?

Because Democrats actively support policies that lead to their dispossession. Mass immigration and section 8 aren't exactly policies that help whites.
 
Poor whites aren't well educated and are easily duped with dog whistle propaganda that targets their fears and prejudices. Which is probably why the founders didn't want them to vote.

I dunno, but I'm willing to hazard a guess that it's because the alternative is to vote democrat.
 
It's obviously a function of racism. White people all hate anyone from any other race but educated whites are smart enough to feel guilty about it.:doh

Dood is well aware of the facts...he did his ridiculous hit and run in the thread which cited the statistical fact that 75% of black boys in California fail to read to grade standard. Of course...his only response is, its someone elses fault. Why do so many blacks continue to vote democrat despite being so completely and consistently ****ed by the democrats? See the OP.

Poor whites might not have any wealth...but in their mind they're equal to rich whites on the social ladder and blacks are at the bottom. Poor whites have fought against equality for blacks since the civil war...to the KKK...to Jim Crowe... to the fight against civil rights...to the mass incarceration of blacks that we see today. Poor whites simply don't want to be equal to blacks...or to compete with them for jobs...or allow them to own property or get an education...or to intermarry with whites...or even to vote....because that might make blacks their equals....or worse...their superior.

It's been well documented that the founding fathers didn't want the unwashed masses voting. And while I can see why. Ultimately there is good and bad to both allowing and disallowing anyone that's a citizen to vote.

I could give two flying ****s what people believe that the founders "wanted." They took two tries to give us an imperfect system that led to a Civil War, and it is up to us to make the best of that system and improve it where we can.

You know a town is dying when the only Walmart closes.

It's sad what happened to the poor people in coal country...but I don't think their jobs are coming back no matter what Trump promised them. At least Clinton had a viable plan to help replace coal jobs with retraining programs and business incentives for clean energy jobs...and now they don't even have that. Sad.

But coal isn't the first industry to lose jobs to newer technology and industrialization and it probably won't be the last. Nothing stays the same forever.
