California Democrats & Independents must lead the fight vs the GOP.

Why California? Why not have the first Democratic primary held in Mexico? No place is more important to the Democratic Party now.
 
I cannot support Kamala Harris due to her criminal justice record. I will (reluctantly) support her in the general election vs. Trump (to OPPOSE Trump, NOT support Harris), but I will fight tooth and nail to ensure she doesn't win the nomination until then. On another note, the mainstream media is claiming "progressives" no longer support Bernie Sanders in NH, while Huffington Post is now openly supporting blatant plutocracy in favor of Bernie Sanders OR (my personal favorite) Elizabeth Warren. Like, I understand that decades of right-wing propaganda has instilled such an illogical and endemic caricature of Social Democracy and the left in general... but for ****'s sake... PLUTOCRACY? If we don't get our **** together RIGHT NOW this country won't exist in a few decades, let alone be on the right side of history...

...I mean, FFS NPR, why would a ****ing "progressive" support BETO O'ROURKE over Bernie Sanders or ELIZABETH WARREN?

It’s still well under the radar, but the movement to circumvent the Electoral College gained ground this week. On Sunday, Jared Polis, the governor of Colorado, said he would sign a bill to join the National Popular Vote interstate compact, whose members have pledged to give their electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote. The Maine Legislature, likewise, is mulling membership and will hold hearings to discuss the issue.

Attacking those lawmakers, Paul LePage, the former governor of Maine — who still calls into conservative radio shows from his retirement home in Florida — dismissed the proposal as an attack on the political rights of white people. “Actually what would happen if they do what they say they’re going to do is white people will not have anything to say,” he said. “It’s only going to be the minorities that would elect. It would be California, Texas, Florida.”

That is racist nonsense. But it’s useful to think about, in a way, because beneath LePage’s objection is an unintentionally keen observation about the electoral status quo. If direct election of the president would give equal weight to all votes, then the Electoral College works to give outsize weight to a narrow group of voters in a handful of states. That bias is why Donald Trump is president. A healthy plurality chose his opponent, but his supporters dominated key “swing” states.

It could happen again. A 2018 report on America’s future political demography found four realistic scenarios in which Democrats win the national popular vote but lose the Electoral College because of the geography of the electorate. For more than 200 years, "democracy" in America has been a lie at worst and an effective subversion of the popular-vote.

The popular-vote, that of the people, is the ONLY TRUE MECHANISM indicating a True Democracy demonstrating the will of the people. In the US, that will has been trampled every two or four years in the voting process of mid-term and full-term elections.

Yawn. The US was never intended by the founders to be a "true democracy." In fact, they were at pains not to create anything like that, and this has been taught at all levels.

Look look at there recent historical data 2000 election bush not the total vote getter. 2016 Trump not the Total vote getter. The other fact about being loyal to your party just because? Actually I favor the EC because it compels candidates to visit places beyond those where they have the best chance to run up their vote total.
