In God We Trust??....

Not if your hands have been in that diaper of yours which is quite likely.

As soon as you free yourself of the burden that I care what some "person" on a website thinks of me then maybe we can have a good conversation. Its up to you. I'll do this all day long up to and including getting thrown off.

Perish the thought with the COVID-19 pandemic, would you like some (untouched) cheese with your whine ?

Your replies suggest that you care

Certainly about whining.

Oh you mean the scamdemic? LMAO you haven't fallen for that have you?

So now you say there is no pandemic and the shut down is for fun ?

Over 100,000 dead and counting is evidence otherwise.

1957 and 1968 flu seasons resulted in over 100,000 dead each of those years. no shut down a no masks.

This virus is more contagious. Healthcare facilities are being stressed and should be upgraded as a priority if we want to be able to re-open with less repercussion.

How many might have lived with face masks and a shut down

How many more would COVID-19 kill if we just let people die ?

Nonsense. Maybe NY was for a time but most hospitals were near empty. The local local hospital near me had a full ICU and not a single focus patient. They have never had 1 since this started. Sheeple

None

There is no evidence either masks or shut downs worked

NPR May 7, 2020

"As hospitals were overrun in other parts of the world, the Army Corps of Engineers mobilized in the U.S., hiring private contractors to build emergency field hospitals around the country.

The endeavor cost more than $660 million, according to an NPR analysis of federal spending records.

But nearly four months on it the pandemic, most of these facilities haven't treated a single patient."

Not only have hospitals not been overrun its cost us $660 million for NOTHING. For heaven sake learn to think would you!

Do you not know anything about COVID-19 ?

About how it transmits, how it kills, how long its incubation period is ?

There's a MOUNTAIN of evidence.

Yeah I know 85% of the people who get it have mild symptoms. I know the most vulnerable are the elderly and the obese. I know the gov of NY and some other idiot govs forced nursing homes to take covid positive patients in an apparent attempt to cull the elderly population. I know we did all the lockdown BS to not overrun hospitals even though that never happened. I know Sweden didn't shutdown and their death rate/million is not significantly different than the US. What do you know? What CNN tells you? Lmao

Due to the closure or it could have been much worse. Why is our healthcare sector already stressed if according you and other right wingers, there is no upward trend only volatility?

COVID-19 virus can be transmitted via touch or be airborne (so face masks can reduce transmission but not prevent it)
A face mask can prevent you contracting the virus from a person in close proximity to you but the virus can be spread by ventilation systems

The incubation period for flu is 1-2 days, whereas the incubation period for COVID-19 is 3-5 days (which means you can be spreading the virus without knowing it)

A flu-infected person typically infects 2 people, a COVID-19 infected person (so far) seems to infect double that (possibly because of the incubation period - above)

No known immunity have yet been discovered (which means that a person recovering from COVID-19 can be infected again - unlike flu) Though some people are immune but we don't know why yet.

There is still no known cure or vaccine

So:
COVID-19 travels faster than flu
The COVID-19 infection rate is exponentially higher than flu
We can't cure it yet
We don't know why people recover or why some ethnic groups appear more vulnerable
We think that the virus will die out around November but that's not because of any aggressive medical action

Lastly there does appear to be a correlation between social distancing and infection rates.

Scientists need to figure out which measures best control Covid-19 - STAT

You do realise the US has a population over 300 million so even if "only" 15% become badly ill that's 45 million people. The US has already had over 100k dead with shutdowns and the number of cases is still going up in some places so what exactly do you think we should do?
I live in the UK and here we've also had a massive shutdown and hopefully it'll work but we can't end that lockdown quickly in case of a second wave but I expect you don't think we should worry about that. The people denying the severity of this crisis need to get a grip and see reality for what it is unless you want to see another 100k dead.

Maybe just maybe if you think CNN are not to be believed just take a look at the news from any European news networks and see how bad this situation is everywhere.

And Trump will only let his supporters into his rallies unless they sign a waiver that they won't sue over a democratic "hoax".

1959 and 1968 over 100,000 dead from influenza no shutdowns. Sweden currently with no shutdown has a death rate note statistically different from the US which has a shut down.

The problem isn't where the news comes from the problem is that I don't believe for one second that any leftist gives a **** about anything they claim to care about. You're the problem not CNN

The problem here is while you may be fine with taking the risk I'm sure many people aren't fine with a much higher possibility of being infected and seeing their parents or grandparents die because simple precautions aren't taken. Yes, this is going to cost a lot of money but I have a feeling the tens of thousands of people who would have seen relatives die in an unchecked pandemic probably think it's worth it.

Then 100k deaths is also just those reported and the real number is likely much higher once we factor in people who have died at home alone or just haven't been able to see a doctor.
Also thanks for assuming I'm a leftist purely because I'm from the UK, that's a real classy move. I actually vote for the Liberal Democrats which is a pretty centrist party in the UK but go ahead and throw about insults.

Life is risk taking. Don't want the risks stay home. Its rather simple actually.

I am sure the number of deaths in 59 and 68 were higher too. So what?

So you really don't care how many people could die from this you think the economy is more important? That's nice to know.
Maybe we should just get rid of all safety features on everything and just let people risk using stuff as life is risk, right?

This tired old refrain??? Realky!? Is it that you can't actually can't come up a counter argument? What's the goal here? Lock down the economy until some undetermined point in the future when no one will die? When will that be exactly? Give us a date and we can discuss it rationally but if all you have is your emotional drivel save it.

Yep, I actually care how many people will needlessly die if we reopen early but feel free to ignore the advice of experts and do whatever you like.
The major economies of the world all had a lockdown but you know better eh? It must be great being all knowing.

If there's one good thing that COVID-19 brought, it is Trump's demise in the November 2020 election.

As they say here:

"Flush the turd, on November third"

Now you won't forget the election date.
