Hypothetical situation - Can it happen:

Let's say Trump AND Pence are impeached and removed from office by the Senate.

Let's call this R day.

R + 1: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi takes the Oath of Office and becomes the 46th president of the USA

(does the Constitution say she has to quit her office as Congressman for Northern California?)

R + 2: President Nancy Pelosi nominates Hilary as VP

R + 3: Hilary takes the oath of office as VP

R + 4: President Nancy Pelosi resigns as president of the USA and returns to the house as Speaker

R + 5: Hilary is sworn in as the 47th president of the USA.



Can this happen ?

Why would the bolded part happen? What constitutional authority would the president have to do such a thing?

Yes, but you missed a step. The 25th Amendment:

“Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.“

So R + 3 would be that the House and Senate confirm Hillary as VP.

Not possible. If both the President and VP are removed then the line of succession kicks in and the Speaker of The House automatically becomes President.
 
Interesting. Don't know the law so I don't know the answer but I will offer an opinion. As a registered democrat I think if it were legal, no party should ever stoop that low for control of government. I want to live in a democratic society not a society that allows laws to jerrymander the government under certain conditions.

The republicans like to think of the democrats as the scenario you describe, they would grab all the power they could. Sadly it's just another projection on their part.

Ah so it's unlikely the Senate would confirm Hilary as VP - the Democrats would need 4 GOP senators to agree.

Assuming there is no legal bar to holding two positions, it is theoretically possible. I'm not selling any stock options in anticipation.

Does the Constitution allow a person to hold more than one office ?

Specifically can a congressman also be the President of the USA or must he/she relinquish one office ?

Im pretty sure constitutional separation of powers would not allow that to happen.
