No, it's a process to remove a bad president.

Never-the-less each impeachment procedure (of a president) seeks to remove the sitting president from office, an office he attained via a legitimate election.

Gerald Ford remains the only man to have served as Vice President and President of the USA without being elected to either office.

No I'm not, though it seems I know more about US history than you do.
You have used the term "appointed" in regard to Nixon's successor. Nixon CHOSE him in 1973, he didn't 'appoint' him like a king would appoint a minister. All the other stuff you're talking about, freaking out about Hillary Clinton being "appointed" by Nancy Pelosi if she succeeds Trump is nothing but pure fantasy. If you believe any of your own foolish ramblings then you're the one that hasn't a clue.

I think you should stop stressing over a potential Hillary Clinton president or VP. It's never going to happen.

It's a process used to remove any Federal officer that has committed "treaso, bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors". It isn't for removing a president because you're butthurt about losing.

Well if you want to get technical, under the 25th Amendment, Nixon actually NOMINATED Ford for VP and his subsequent appointment was confirmed by Congress. Later Ford was to nominate his successor as VP when became president.

The prospect of Hilary becoming President seems to have "freaked" you out...are you saying Nancy Pelosi would never NOMINATE Hilary for the appointment as VP or Congress would never approve her appointment ?

At least I knew Gerald Ford was never elected to either office of president or vice president and have to scramble frantically for something in which to save face.
Ford's appointment to the office of VP was confirmed by Congress following nomination by Nixon. It wasn't an automatic succession.

No, Republicans need to remember this when they shamelessly impeached Bill Clinton in 1998.

In Trump's case it's a question of House Democrats being unable to ignore Trump's criminality any longer. He HAS to be impeached and removed.
