It's not Illegal if the President does it.

It's not Illegal if the President does it.'

Just this morning on Face The Nation Margaret Brennan asked GOP Rep. Kelly Armstrong (ND), sitting right there, if US presidents should be able to ask/pressure foreign nations to interfere in our elections.

Armstrong said, and I paraphrase, 'No, I don't generally believe so. But this president is different. That's his style. People knew this and he was still elected. That's just the way Trump is.'

Brennan scrunched up her eyes as Armstrong was saying this (like she couldn't possibly be hearing what she was actually hearing) and then turned toward the camera with a shocked and incredulous look on her face to break away.

It was painful and extremely sad to hear a member of Congress excuse the flouting of our Constitution in such a cavalier manner.

What's more, Armstrong is on the Judiciary Committee...

I don't know what to do anymore, RV.... half the Republicans are clinging to their bizarre conspiracy theories and the other half - like with Armstrong - aren't even bothering with that... oh well, that's just the way he is. He can be such a character.

There comes a point in any dispute where words don't work anymore and it becomes a time for action - to put up or shut up. I think we're fast reaching that juncture.

Senators John Kennedy (R) LA and Roger Wicker (R) MS were on different Sunday shows and seem solidly behind Trump.

Bolded: I hear you, anonymous board and all, I would caution the rhetoric..........

Action means lots of thing, Rex.... we're not in a police state. Yet. I do think, though, that if we're true to the ideals of the Constitution - regardless of our political stripe - then we need to start getting up our duffs and doing things. Casting a ballot every couple of years isn't enough anymore - we need to be out there demonstrating or actually volunteering to help political campaigns. Not just for the Presidential candidate of your choice, but for House and Senate candidates as well. If you're offended by the course the country is taking and the steady erosion of the rule of law, coming on to a chatroom and talking about it isn't going to change a damn thing. Look around - nobody is changing any minds here. If your elected representatives don't seem willing to fulfill their oaths of office or to support and defend the constitution, then they need to be replaced by people who will put patriotism over partisanship.

We got to the point we are because of apathy. We got lazy. And so we got the kind of government we deserve. Continuing to be apathetic isn't going to get us out of this situation.

If Trump isn't enough to motivate democratic voters, then I don't know what is.

If Trump wins a second term next year, thy'll be no limit to what he thinks he can do.
