What Comes After Impeachment?

What comes after impeachment is trial in the US Senate. That is THE last word.

Thus, the likely result and LAST word after 4 years of constant accusations by the Democratic Party and Democrat MSM/press is a trial conclusion that Trump is innocent and the Democrats in Congress and on the media are pathological liars.

Why Democrats think THAT is the winning tactic is amazing.

Maybe most Democrats don't understand that their greatest undercover asset Mitt Romney only can cast 1 vote against Trump hoping he is drafted for the 2020 election.

The power to impeach is not dependent upon pre-arranged approval of the Senate, it is a statement of power by the House. The Senate has the right to convict but not to forbid or restrict the power of the House to impeach.

I also agree with the position that an impeachment attempt might hurt non-cultists at the polls. Probably not worth it. He's above the law until voted out.

Hes above the tortuous twisting of the law needed to rationalize an obstruction of justice charge. Thats a good thing for the President and everyone.

odd behavior to up his own exoneration and inquiries into his financials. he won't always be president, though, and cultists won't always control the Senate.

Impeachment would be such a waste of time. Forget the fact that the Senate is GOP , there is absolutley now way those paper thin obstruction charges would hold in a court of law.

Yeah yeah ---I know 800 prosecutors blah blah blah.

All Federal employees so most likely almost all Democrats- I don't care who they served under,

REal lawyers get lawyer jobs.
The crappy ones for the Govt.
Once they start feeding at the Govt trough, they become democrats.

You are likely right.

What happens next? Congress takes up impeachment, the results are forwarded to the Senate and the Senate votes to convict, speaking hypothetically, here.
What follows a vote to impeach? Is there an appeal? Is the Presidency over?
So, what have you learned, so far?
Anything answer your questions?
You are right, we are probably somewhat naive of the true answer, because if it is spelled out in black and white, we peons do not know where - our civics studies are not that detailed.

I think you are describing a major flaw in our system - don't you???

I learned that I need to tighten up my posts. My question referred to a hypothetical guilty verdict in the Senate. Since “we the people” haven’t been down that road before.

Aside; I graduated high school in 1971 and I don’t recall that civics or government was stressed in the curriculum. I have improved my knowledge of both topics since participating here@ DP...

Trump would be out, Pence would be in. Trump will be indicted.
