Hey guys! Still fairly new here; this being only my second post!

I am in the rudimentary steps of understanding law and the constituion. I have a good grasp on the constitution and what it entails: the rules of the government, checks and balance, the amendments, etc. Right now I am reading the Federalist to understand the implications of the Constitution at that time, and the culture/environment surrounding the constitution at that time. It's nourished my understanding of why the Constitution was written now.

But I what to understand supreme court cases and how they have shaped our country. I also want to understand important pieces of legislalation that shaped the economic landscape of america, whether they favorable or not (FDR for example or Obama Care)

Could you guys reccomend some books and lectures that can provide information on the legistlative history of the United States and how it gas affected America?

Please and Thanks!

I am taking Criminal Justice in school by the way if that provides any direction. Although it's enjoyable, it's more jargan and biased than philisophically provoking.
