With a Tweet, Trump Upends Republican Strategy for Dealing With Yovanovitch - The New York Times

House Republicans planned ahead, hoping to strike a respectful tone at Friday’s impeachment hearing. Mr. Trump’s tweet was exactly the kind of attack they had hoped to avoid.

WASHINGTON — Heading into Friday’s impeachment hearing, the Republican strategy for dealing with Marie L. Yovanovitch was simple: treat the ousted ambassador to Ukraine with respect during her testimony on Friday and avoid any appearance of bullying a veteran diplomat who had been vilified and driven from her post.

President Trump blew up the plan.

Apparently she was already testifying when that tweet was made so the suggestion in the article that he was intimidating the witness is a bit odd considering his tweets were not livestreamed on an overhead projector or anything.
 
to a person, the republicans were complimentary and civil to the ambassador
was hoping that was a good sign rather than a ruse

That could be considered as another episode of Trump obstruction.

I'll wager that America didn't take kindly to Trumps Twitter attempt at witness intimidation.

And it really makes him look like a sleazy mobster (which he is).

I've been saying that for the past FOUR years. I've known all about Trump for decades and I said it back in 2015, he's always been nothing but a mob boss and a racketeer.

Which I'm sure was part of pelosi's plan.

Poke the bear. Poke him again. Throw out some testimony from hard-to-bash career officials. Poke a couple more times.

We all know this is driving trump bat****.

She staked a rope to the ground, threw it around his neck and said "Boo!".

And he has been running as fast as he can toward the end of that rope ever since. (Which isn't very fast, but there's a LOT of mass involved!)

Warning to others who might step up (everybody who has testified did so in defiance of trumps instructions not to appear) that he would smear them as he did the ambassador.

Witness intimidation is also about all future witnesses, not just current ones. You'd know this if you weren't just parroting right wing talking points.
 
does anyone still doubt that we have a ton of "part-time" Christians in our country? and "part-time" Law and Order folks for that matter.

Prior to trump we usually managed to get to the truth in the reported news.

Trump was quoted that if he ran it would be as a Republican because he considered them the dumbest voters in the country. From what we see of the behaviors of the Republicans, he is right for once.
