OK, first Dr. Trump claims that windmills cause cancer, now he claims to have seen piles of dead bald eagles underneath them:

“You want to see a bird cemetery? Go under a windmill sometime,” the president ranted. “You will see the saddest, you got every type of bird. You know, in California you go to jail for five years if you kill a bald eagle. You go under a windmill, you see them all over the place. Not a good situation.”

He also has seen Muslims dancing as the towers fell. Add delusional to the long list of mental incapacities of DJT.

Cell phone towers kill many more birds than windmills. I wonder if Trump will go on a rampage about those? Or maybe about cats?
 
A Google search produces results saying around 300,000 birds a year die from windmills. This is lower than those that die from cell/radio towers.

I don't see anything wrong with trying to reduce those deaths

Sure, but do you feel they warrant discarding wind power in favor of coal or natural gas?

That's the line Trump is running right up to.

Hell yes. Windpower is inefficient, expensive and one of the dumbest things this country has ever fallen for. We have more natural gas than anyone which provides clean, high quality power but we're building windmills. Total lunacy. Nuclear power could also be much more widely used but everyone has been brainwashed about that, too.

Yes, we know there is an issue where windmills can be responsible for killing birds (as many other man made things can.) The issue is Trump’s absolute stupidity to suggest we entirely abandon windmill technology before it has had a chance to improve and reduce the impact to the bird population.

Depending on source (of course they vary) the number of birds killed each year by hunting is 2x to 4x greater than the reported number of birds killed by windmills. By using Trump’s logic all shotguns should be taken away because “that is not a good situation.”

Discarded no. Need better development to reduce the bird deaths before it's adopted in more places, Yes.


I do feel had Bernie or Biden made the same comment we would see sides flip on who thinks it's a dumb comment

I personally go hunting every day and bag three eagles.

That is because decomposing birds still produce less greenhouse gases than clean burning natural gas.

I'm interested in what provides the best source of power, not pandering to environmental and climate change wackos.
