UK Rwanda plan: will it ever actually happen?

Firstly it's a crazy idea that could be in contravention of quite a few Human Rights but the latest to-and-fro in Parliament showed the 10 amendments made in the Lords defeated in the Lower House last night.

"All 10 amendments were rejected, including allowing courts to question Rwanda's safety. The government insists Rwanda is safe."

And yet, we are accepting refugees from Rwanda itself.

And then the cost...

Labour says each deportation will cost as much as sending six people to space.

"Is the minister aware that Virgin Galactic can send six people into space for less than this government wants to spend sending one person to Rwanda?" he said.
"Is it not time to rethink this absurd policy and extortionate cost?"

Utter lunacy. So the bet is - will any flights take off before the Govts self imposed aim of June 2024?

The crazy part is that the UK has accepted Rwandan refugees while calling Rwanda safe.. I mean wtf?
 
Come back to me when Rishi has a plane he can fly to Rwanda.

The UK has plenty of planes capable of carrying passengers such as the A330 tanker transport aircraft.
They also have the best airlift capability in Europe with A400m and C-17.

We have problems with defence but that part is actually pretty well funded.
