RFK Jr picks California lawyer Nicole Shanahan as his running mate.

There is also the Libertarian Party, which is pro-market and otherwise individualist/pro-gun etc., and will likely be on the ballot in 30-50 states in November.

Their candidate could attract quite a few Nikki Haley voters, who think Trump is too radical / too crazy.

And the Green Party with Jill Stein, who will likely be on the ballot in 40 states or something in November.

The Green Party is leftist and a threat to Biden's chances.

Just like Cornel West, but he's not going to make it on many ballots in November.

I think RFK Jr. is interesting especially in a year where both major party candidates are disliked and unwanted to become the next president by most Americans. 59% of all Americans don’t want Biden to run again, 56% don’t want Trump to run again either. Another interesting aspect of this upcoming election is among Biden supporters, 40% are voting for Biden, 58% against Trump because they want Trump to lose. While among Trump supporters, 68% are voting for him because they want Trump to win, 32% against Biden.

Polling wise, RFK Jr. is a bit above 10% according to RCP averages in a 5-candidate race. Keep in mind, no labels aren’t included.

With the dislike and unwantedness of both major party candidates, I suspect the third party will be much higher than the 1.5% historical average and that we’ll have a low voter turnout. This election will be more akin to 2016 than 2020. In 2016 voter turnout was 54%, 137 million using VAP with a third-party vote of 6%, 8.2 million. Compare that to 2020 when voter turnout was 62%, 160 million with a third-party vote of 1.7%, 2.7 million.

This upcoming election due to the dislike and unwantedness of both major party candidates has become for many Americans a who cares who wins elections, especially among independents who make up 42% of the electorate. I think neither major party knows how much most Americans don’t want Biden reelected nor for Trump to regain the white house. Either that or both major parties don’t care about most Americans, just themselves.

As much as Democrats and Americans "dont want Biden or Trump", they keep voting for them in the primary process.

You're putting too much stock in all of these cockamamie polls IMO.

Perhaps. But the primaries are just for the party loyalist. There’s no doubt the republican base wants Trump, the RNC and the Republican Party leadership would prefer someone else. The Democrats are just the opposite, the DNC and Democratic Party leadership wanted Biden while the base preferred someone else. But the DNC and Democratic Party leaders did everything with their power to ensure Biden never had a prominent or viable challenger to include arm twisting of some potential challengers not to run along with other shenanigans.

The polls I’m looking at aren’t primary polls, but polls of all Americans which include republicans, democrats along with swing voters, independents. All Americans in this regard don’t want neither Trump nor Biden. They’re searching for an alternative to both major party candidates. Here’s an example. 34% of all Americans have a favorable view of Biden, not Trump. 37% have a favorable view of Trump, not Biden, 26% of all Americans view both Biden and Trump unfavorably or negatively. The most important group, the election deciders, independents, swing voters, 27% have a positive or favorable view of Biden, but not Trump. 31% favorable or positive view of Trump, but not Biden, 37% have a negative view of both Trump and Biden. I think independents in how they view both Biden and Trump this year is very important to Biden. He won independents in 2020 54-41 over Trump. Independents are leaning toward Trump today 38-31 over Biden, RFK Jr. 25%, West 4%, Stein 2%.

The third-party vote when adding them up, 31% of independents comes relatively close to the 37% of independents who dislike both Trump and Biden. This upcoming election is more akin to 2016 when both major party candidates were disliked and unwanted than 2020. Especially among independents who went to Trump in 2016, 46-42 with 12% voting third party, then switching to Biden in 2020, 54-41 with 5% voting third party.

I hope you're being facetious. What a horrible way to determine who you vote for if not.
He's voting for hotness. Last few times, Dems have voted for Blackness. What's the difference?

So much for third parties giving us viable alternatives. They're all kooks.

I fear this might help trump win in some twisted way.....
A wise assumption since the rise of identity politics in todays USA!

1) Obama received a record 96% of black votes to McCain's 4% in 2008
2) Trumps unprecedented rural white counties vote averaged 88% in 2016
3) Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defeat of powerful House Democrat Joe Crowley a stunning primary election upset,
Crowley’s campaign spent about 16 times more than his challenger’s did; Crowley headed the Queens
County Democratic Party. He had not faced a primary challenger in 14 years. During Crowley's 10 terms in office
the minority especially Latino presents in his district had soared.

Enter Nicole Shanahan a much brighter woman than Kamala, now a VP candidate and furthermore an ASIAN ethnic!
20% of Californians are Asian & Shanahan is the 1st Asian ethnic to have such a high platform

Could it be even a remote possibility to consider California in play? And if deep blue California is even contemplated
that's evidence enough to entertain troubles throughout the country for the democrats.

US presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr has announced Silicon Valley lawyer and philanthropist Nicole Shanahan as his running mate.

Ms Shanahan, 38, the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, has never before run for political office.

Mr Kennedy, an environmental lawyer, anti-vaccine activist and scion of America's most famous political dynasty, is running as an independent.

Naming a VP pick is a prerequisite to be on the ballot in a number of states.

The Kennedy campaign has ruffled Democrats, who are concerned about its spoiler potential on President Joe Biden's re-election chances.

On Tuesday Mr Kennedy embraced that label, calling his campaign "a spoiler for President Biden and for President Trump" that will "forge an unstoppable coalition of homeless Democrats and homeless Republicans".

The Democratic National Committee has recently stepped up attacks on Mr Kennedy, arguing that his longshot third-party bid will only end up helping to elect the Republican candidate, Donald Trump.

Ms Shanahan was unveiled on Tuesday by Mr Kennedy at a rally in Oakland, California, where he described her as a "fellow lawyer, a brilliant scientist, technologist, a fierce warrior mom".

She has previously been a longtime Democratic donor and has already donated to Mr Kennedy's campaign. She said in her remarks that she was leaving the Democratic Party, because it had "lost its way" by focusing on "elitism" and "winning at all costs".

"I believe I am taking the best ideals and impulses with me," she said.

Will you Americans vote for them ?
Hell no.

No thanks to anti-vax sympathizers and anti-IVF extremists.

Republicans promote RFK but vote Trump. That tells you everything you need to know, he’s nothing but a spoiler candidate for gullible rubes.
