Franklin Graham, a son of the famed late preacher Billy Graham, has chimed in about the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

And according to this Christian evangelist and humanitarian, the accusation is simply “not relevant.”

“It’s just a shame that a person like Judge Kavanaugh who has a stellar record — that somebody can bring something up that he did when he was a teenager close to 40 years ago,” Franklin Graham said in an interview Tuesday with the Christian Broadcasting Network. “That’s not relevant.”

It's hard for this kind of hypocrisy to make me flinch but this one succeeded.

Seventeen year old's are prosecuted as adults everyday...

"...Studies indicate that a small percentage of rapes are reported to law enforcement officials. Research also suggests that rapes perpetrated by a stranger are more likely to be reported..."

And your point is? We're talking about a 15 year old girl being sexually assaulted by a drunken older boy. Seventeen year olds are not the subject of the OP: religious hypocrisy is.

I'm certainly no expert on the Christian right, but I think part of their platform is to welcome sinners, and to "transform" them into holy and righteous people. This of course only works for those who can deliver on the Christian agenda. All others remain sinners forever. Easy peasy.

But this guy is saying a sin committed 32 years ago is 'not relevant.' Who put him in charge of determining this?

Well of course not, why would it be?

Trump bragged about sexually assaulting women, and that was irrelevant. Trump publicly supported the KKK and Neo Nazis saying some are "very fine people", and that was irrelevant. Trump made racist attacks on a gold start parent, Trump attacked Mexicans calling them rapists and murderers, Trump bragged about being a perverted Peeping Tom at his pageants, Trump demanded the death of five black teens he knew to be innocent, Trump attacked black athletes peacefully taking a knee in protest, and all that was irrelevant. Trump flimflammed desperate "University" students out of the last dollars and ruined their lives by driving them deep into credit card debt.

All of those things are acceptable to most Evangelical Christians, people like Franklin Graham. Why would we expect gang raping a 15 year old girl to be relevant to these same Evangelical Christians? If you're a white male it's "Open Season" on brown skin people and women in the USA.

What Graham means is that most liberals are atheists so yes, it is not relevant

I agree with you, I guess I wasn't clear. I was referring to 17 year old rapists being prosecuted as adults and that many rapes never get reported, which is a shame...

I'd think you and others would be delighted by what Franklin Graham said.

We know what young males are learning from this POTUS:

Bragging about sexually assaulting women is cool, supporting the KKK and Neo Nazis saying some are "very fine people" is cool, making racist attacks on a gold start parent is cool, attacking Mexicans calling them rapists and murderers is cool, bragging about being a perverted Peeping Tom is cool, attacking black athletes peacefully taking a knee in protest is cool, flimflamming desperate people out of the last dollars and ruining their lives by driving them deep into credit card debt is cool.

But most importantly they're learning you better be white if you're going to do it. Research published in prestigious peer reviewed journals confirms this fits with Trump's base:

Research Finds That Racism, Sexism, and Status Fears Drove Trump Voters

Cite any law that states that an unsubstantiated accusation is sufficient for conviction. Back to context of the post, although I'm not a mind-reader, from what I gather, Graham is saying that an action 36 years ago has no bearing today according to the law. Identify any "fact" Dr. Ford has presented that can be investigated.

Talibornagain hypocritical faux christians.

Religion is dying because of these clowns.

Amazing, pastors who absolutely know what happened 2000 years ago in Bethlehem are gaslighting Americans into believing that it is literally impossible to figure out what happened right around the same time the Cosby abuse allegations started piling up.
Oh wait, Kavanaugh's not black...

You have a funny way with words. ...like your use of "actually".

Actually ...actually does not mean ... I strongly believe.

Cosby has not actually been convicted of multiple actual rapes.

No, Kavanaugh doesn't have 'allegations piling up', now does he? simple yes or no please.

Too funny. He was convicted of three counts and will be sentenced next week. The liberal media calls it molestation and not rape because he is black.I hope the pig dies in jail.

Certainly not. It only shows what a poor grasp of reality the Christian Right has. In my mind, the burden of sins (as in terms of your conscience) do not fade away over time. You may hope so but in reality they it does not.

And common sense is out the window!!

I'm scratching my head as to how you arrived at your statement. Why should I be delighted with the preposterous statement of this Right Wing religious nut? I was prompt to criticize him, not to agree with him.

I actually don't care what the liberal media calls it. I was not commenting on what the liberal media was doing.

You still don't get it because you didn't read what you posted carefully enough. Would you like for me to point out what you missed?

You know, it's funny how when boys report Cathlic priests molested them 35 years ago, it's a scandal, when a women does it, it's why did they wait so long.
