Mueller investigating Kushner's communication with foreign leaders: report

Mueller investigating Kushner's communication with foreign leaders: report | TheHill

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team of investigators are looking into White House senior adviser and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and his contact with foreign leaders, according to a new report.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Mueller’s team is probing Kushner’s involvement in the controversy surrounding a U.N. resolution passed in December 2016 that condemned Israeli settlement construction.

Trump, who was president-elect at the time, called for the US to veto the resolution, saying the resolution was “extremely unfair to all Israelis.”

The UN Security Council passed the resolution days later as the US abstained from vetoing it.
The Journal reports that Israeli officials reached out to several top officials involved in Trump’s transition, including Kushner and former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, and that Mueller’s probe is asking questions about those overtures.

Mueller’s investigators are also looking into Kushner’s role in setting up meetings and communication with foreign leaders during Trump’s transition, according to the Journal.

The senior adviser has also come under fire for repeatedly updating his security clearance disclosure form to include more than 100 names of foreign contacts he’s held meetings or had contact with.

Now, the Mueller probe is getting somewhere. Kushner was a private citizen when he conducted these negotiations, so it was technically in violation of the Logan act. Now it's doubtful he'll be charged with a crime as the Logan act has never actually been enforced, but it will act as a predicate offense to examine whether Kushner was soliciting funds for his family business -- which is very illegal.

Very interesting. Wonder how many skeletons might be found?

Every freegin' week it seems some communication between he and russia pops out that he... *ahem* "forgot" about and didn't tell while under oath.

It starting to look more and more like Mueller is building a serious perjury case against Kushner for his deceptive SF-86 forms. We know Kushner met with countless ambassadors and officials from other countries to negotiate policy (which is a violation of the Logan act), and he also didn't disclose multiple companies and loans, so it should be a pretty straightforward case to build.

Mueller will likely also try and examine whether Kushner and his family business violated campaign election/emolument laws by offering 'pay for play' to nationals willing to invest with them. That certainly happened with Russia, Qatar, and China, and one could certainly see that going all the way down to the state level.

BTW: Mueller is also closely examining Flynn's work in Turkey and an alleged bribe to kidnap Fethullah Gulena, a Turkish cleric that exposed their governments corruption. Word is that Mueller is working a deal with Reza Zarrab to turn states evidence against Flynn.

Who is Reza Zarrab? Turkish-Iranian gold trader may be working with Mueller investigation of Michael Flynn - World - CBC News

arrab is a 37-year-old multi-millionaire gold trader who was picked up in Miami in March 2016 on charges of money laundering and violating U.S. sanctions on Iran.

Just weeks from his trial date, Zarrab was suddenly moved out of prison, fuelling speculation Zarrab has been drawn into Mueller's Russia investigation and may be spilling secrets to save himself.

The dual Iranian-Turkish citizen may know something about the explosive allegation that the Turkish government offered Michael Flynn $15 million to kidnap Fethullah Gulen, a cleric living in Pennsylvania who the Turkish government blames for the 2016 attempted coup. (Flynn's lawyer and Turkish officials have rejected the allegations.)

This is no longer Trump-Russia, this is a foreign corruption probe into team Trump, just as I predicted it would become. ;)

I think Kushner and Flynn are next, and possibly Flynn's son, unless Flynn is singing like a canary to keep his son out of jail.

I remember back when this all started, Flynn was up in everybody's face, tryna testify in exchange for immunity. Nobody was interested, though. They were like, "Nah, man. We good. We don't need you to testify. We have everything we need."

I recall Flynn stood onstage at the GOP convention shouting and screaming "Lock her up"...It will be great to see that loud mouth traitor doing hard time

Yes, I remember that, too. Wonder if he and his son will share a cell?

I had a similar thought. Very much like when we were interrogating suspects who we already had solid cases against and they were all ready to snitch on their buddies for a deal, and we responded with "we don't need you, but you should probably get a lawyer."

I reckon this is why Flynn has not been served an indictment, he is probably spilling his guts to get his boy a lesser sentance.

If Kushner gets indicted, I predict Mueller will get the shove. Why not, the GOP never holds Trump accountable.

I would be for having Flynn sent to GITMO to make him talk....With some "enhanced interrogation" if need be

And go with waterboarding? According to the GOP its not torture.

 Yes. Always makes me chuckle a little.

"Naw, man. We good. You keep your info. We already have it."

Nope. Why would they? They are all as morally bankrupt as he is.

I think Kushner has a very large closet full, and Mueller is sifting thru the bones.

If Kushner is indicted, Donald will be raging. If his son, Don Jnr is also indicted that rage will be wild, will Trump fire Mueller or just pardon the 2 of them?

If Kushner turns on his father-in-law, there might be a reckoning.

Probably try to fire Mueller (which he can't) and then pardon the 2 of them.

People keep talking about all this causing a Constitutional crisis. So ****ing what? I mean seriously -- these people **** on the Constitution on the daily, so it's not like anything is going to happen anyway. He will probably pardon everybody, stay in office until 2020 and then these stupid ****ers will re-elect him, and during that time, he'll change the Constitution that he's wiping his ass with anyway, and remove term limits.

Kushner will not turn on Trump. At the end of it all, and if he does not run in 2020, he would pardon Kushner. That said State charges may also be laid and Trump cannot pardon those.

Which is why its important that the Dems take the House next year. The GOP will not hold Trumps feet to the fire, the voters will find someone who can!!

State charges. This is what I'm hoping for. However it will require a state prosecutor to file those. And if it's in New York I could see Mueller teaming up with Eric Schneiderman again like he did on Manafort.

Oh they could share evidence, could be doing that as we speak.

They do so at the risk of their majorities. If Kushner were to be indicted, Mueller fired and the GOP looking the other way, they will be done (and so will Trump). That is much too big a loose end for the American electorate.
