WTF? Why on earth are left wingers protesting against groups who oppose Sharia law? Are they in favor of a law that makes women second class citizens, that makes homosexuality illegal and punishable by death? That decapitates people for crimes like apostasy? That stones women to death for adultery? That punishes women who are raped? Have they all gone out of their minds?

I don't understand it either. The two sides disagree on many things, but I thought this would be something everyone would agree is not a good thing. :confused:

everyone but you understands what is really going on. the anti sharia protesters dont really think there is a chance in hell sharia would ever happen they are just pretending so they can hate moslems more. the anti protesters understand whats going on and oppose hate. your confusion comes in when you read crap like breitbart. how embarrassing.

Please tell me, what is actually going on?

From the CNN story it surely does sound like there was an Anti-Sharia Law group, which makes complete and total sense, and then there were people who appear to be supportive of Sharia Law.


If you're opposing an anti-Sharia group, can you be seen as anything other than pro-Sharia?

Also, can't you be anti-Sharia, but not anti-Muslim?

I am showing you that religion can and does affect local laws that get passed. Sharia addresses many aspects of life and it is quite conceivable that its supporters could become a voting majority in a local area.

The idea that being anti-anti-Sharia is not being pro-Sharia is a bit of a stretch but I guess protesting protestors has its moments. ;)

Seems from the CNN link that the counter-protesters were more about confronting Trump supporters and calling for an end to hate crimes against Muslims than supporting sharia law... but you go ahead and drink the Breitbart kool-aid, as is your wont... their line of crap is certainly more dramatic and provocative.

These anti-Muslim demonstrators, who believe that the US is vulnerable to instituting sharia law, are insane and stupid... but of course that is consistent with being a Trump-supporter.

Simple explanation: They see this anti-Sharia Law nonsense as just being a convenient cover used in order to publicly bash Muslims. And, they are probably right.

Sharia isn't just a religious belief. It is the literal imposition of radical Islamic laws. Muslims are free to do what they want.

Mostly because "anti sharia law" groups are, when you strip them down to the bare bones of what they actually believe, anti Muslim.
