A definite step in the right direction...NOKO to allow international inspectors in, to observe the dismantling of a missile test site?

This might actually work...I certainly hope so, the poor people of North Korea can use a break...and denuclearizing Jong-Un is a plus for the entire planet.

Citing his meeting with Pres.Trump, Kim Jong Un is offering to also de-commission a nuclear facility, if the US will ease up some sanctions.

That is a DEFINITE FIRST.

Looks like the Negotiator in Chief KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING, AGAIN, on the International Front...

Kim Jong Un, Moon Jae-in sign agreement to usher in a 'land of peace'

SEOUL
— South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a broad agreement in Pyongyang on Wednesday that both said would usher in a new era of peace on the Korean Peninsula.

North Korea agreed to take further steps towards denuclearization, including permanently dismantling its Dongchang-ri missile engine test site and launch pad and allowing international inspectors to observe the process, Moon announced at a joint news conference with Kim following the signing ceremony.

Kim said the two sides have taken active measures to free the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons and threats and turn it into a “land of peace.”

According to the text of the Pyongyang agreement, the North also said it was willing to take additional measures such as decommissioning its Yongbyon nuclear facility if the United States made further concessions “ in the spirit of the June 12 North Korea-US joint statement ” signed by Kim and President Donald Trump at a historic summit in Singapore.

His signature isn't worth anything.

His national radio was blaring out the opposite this week by calling the USA the aggressor against peace for North Koreans.

You've got to admit, since NOKO pulled out of the NPT this IS the first time they've said that they were going to allow international inspectors in to witness them dismantling a nuclear site. If this doesn't happen then sanctions can be put back on and even make them stricter.

That said, I understand where you're coming from. NOKO has lied many many times. That however doesn't mean that we should stop trying.

America's enemies were enemies under Obama also, but NK never made this much progress towards reconciliation with the civilized world as it has done under the influence of President Trump.

Thanks, China. :)

Nicely done President Trump!

I would give credit where credit is due. Kim and Moon have been the driving force behind the agreement. Since Moon was elected, real progress has been made, separate from USA interference and to the benefit of both Koreas.

Another win for the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

Almost. The NKs have lied each and every time. This time appears to be no different.

What progress?

That's true... But I'm sure you can understand my skepticism.

Yeah...pays too take what he says with a grain of salt.

All sanctions still in place.

True. Guarded optimism..

Hopefully, anyway. Who knows...ight actually pan out. Wouldn't that be great...

Thanks, China. :)

Why didn't "CHINA" accomplish this before now?

Kim Jong Un didn't CITE CHINA in his comments about it, did he?

Remains to be seen. Since Trump was instrumental in this, you are required to hate it.

TDSers are funny.

Because they've never had access to a president so easily and completely lead by around by the nose, aka his ego, of course. :)

What you mean is “Thank you President Trump!”

What you mean is “Thank you President Trump!”

Au contraire! If that was what I meant, that is what I would have said. The new Moon has been the driving force since he has been elected.
As soon as Moon/Kim make progress, Trump sends Pompeo to gum up the works. It won't work. Moon and Kim are locals.

Kim plays Moon and Trump like violins. Moon at least is making an honest effort on behalf of his country. That said, Moon can sign "peace initiatives" till hell freezes over. Moon does not even get a vote in ending the war on the peninsula. A peace treaty must be signed by China, US and NK. SK does not even have a signing authority.

As for Kim's written pronouncements, while he has "claimed" he wants concessions from the US before he will shut down his fissionable material production facility while not naming the concessions he wants.

In the meantime Kim:
- keeps producing
- keeps talking out of both sides of his mouth
- keeps signing meaningless documents smiling all the while
- has broken the sanctions regimen to smithereens. I said that would immediately break down post Singapore and it immediately broke down after Singapore

Thanks for playing!
