Bezos is the richest man alive, or close to it. He is also a democrat. He is also a democrat hypocrite who is greedy with his money, like most democrats. Here are some interesting facts:

1. Income inequality: He is worth what the average American is, nearly two million times over.

2. Share the wealth: "He has given away only a tiny fraction of his fortune."

3. Tax the rich: He takes a minimal salary so the majority of his wealth is taxed at the corporate rate, which is 20%, meaning he is likely taxed at a lower rate than is his secretary.

4. Amazon paid no federal corporate income taxes last year. Why would Bezos back democrats who want to tax corporations up the ying-yang? Because democrats can provide better loophole protections from the IRS for themselves, their friends and supporters than republicans offer.

5. Amazon worker benefits: Amazon's workers start out at about $5-an-hour below the country's national living wage. One in 3 Amazon employees in Arizona is on food stamps. But that works well for rich democrats. They can support democrat policies which mandate government supplemental benefits be given to poor workers to make up the income disparity gap.

Rich democrats are not for having themselves pay more money to the government or to their employees. They are for having others pay more money to the government and for the government to provide protections for their greedy operations.

Sounds like you want to tax him. Let's do it!

You act like the Democratic party somehow supports that behavior when it doesn't. Many Democratic politicians, most notably Bernie Sanders, has relentlessly attacked Bezos publicly for taking these stances. What's baffling is why a conservative would take issue with his behavior. That's the kind of thing you guys want to see more of, right? Why isn't he your hero?

I stopped reading there, but I’m sure it was a fine post.

The Bezoses of the world were just gifted an enormous tax cut under the current administration and Congress.
We, the workers types, are ALL taxed too much... we also borrow too much, need to stop that as well. If we cannot pay for it, we cannot afford it.

How about the DOD cloud contract that was, under the crony links from the slenderman misadministration, supposed to go to Amazon? Scrutiny by Trump is a good thing there, right?

We can't allow rich Democrats. Only rich Republicans. Same is true of the working class.

Thanks to the fact he lives (along with Bill Gates) in a state with zero income taxes. Doubt he would ever live in California or New York and expose himself to their taxes.

Bernie is a Democrat? That would be news to him.

Exactly why I advocate switching from an income tax to a consumption tax. It's harder to hide spending than it is earnings.

The only thing the op did was highlight the hypocrisy of him being a Democrat but not following the principles of their platform.

Jesus is my hero. Super rich men like Bezos fight conservatives and support democrats. Why would they do that? Because they know what democrats are really doing behind the scenes to enrich themselves and their friends and supporters at the expense of hard working Americans in detriment to the whole God blessed nation.

Democrats aid the rich while lyingly claiming they are for the poor.

Of course. Congress sets tax policies and Congress is made up of men with differing opinions and motivations. Democrat city officials backed down from city plans to tax Amazon in June 2018 because the democrat head of Amazon did not want to be taxed. That was not Trump.

Trump's unpopular tax giveaway to wealthy individuals and corporations was indeed Trump.

i support increasing his taxes significantly. first, i would raise the progressive brackets. second, i would tax all income as income above a cap.

Seems like you're preaching to the choir and could be common ground. Assuming this goes both ways, I'm all for taxing the rich much more and believe most Dems would agree.

The rich should pay more regardless of political leanings...

It is also much harder to design a non-regressive consumption tax. That is why the 'fair tax' plan was so complex. An income tax with a fairly high, yet truly standard deduction would work so long as income from all sources (above the standard deduction amount) is taxed and be fairly progressive even with a flat taxation rate.

Progressive rates are not necessary, or offer any consumer advantage, for business income.

Now you people understand why amazon pays zero dividend. I would consider punishing him by forcing him to buy all outstanding shares. But what he has done is only be a true capitalist.

i don't agree. this highest up on the ladder benefit from paying for maintenance of the lower rungs, IMO. i support relying on income tax for revenue more than other taxes.

When did this country ever have a progressive tax rate for business income?

businesses are made up of individuals. i support a competitive corporate rate, and progressive individual rates for all income.
