William Barr's Vast, Nameless Army Is Being Brought To Bear On D.C. Protesters | HuffPost
It seems that Barr has brought together officers from many areas including prisons to help stop the protests. The question is, why do they not have identity information on their "uniforms" so we know who we are dealing with. It seems that Barr is using this to create a secret police force that can act with impunity as no one will know who is responsible for the actions of this force. So I ask again, has Barr created a secret police force that he controls? IS this how a democracy acts or is this the actions of a dictatorship?

How ironic is it that Trump is being guarded by Bureau of Prisons personnel?

Getting them both acclimated.......

Let's pretend that the Justice Dept didn't examine all evidence and determined that Trump had committed no crimes.

Way to fact-ey for liberals to deal with.

My understanding is that these guys have rings and a secret handshake.

Jocularity!

You think it is a good idea to have unidentified people with policing powers. No organization identification or name tags?

Blah, blah, blah

Oh look, a propaganda cartoon.

Powerful argument there.

Except that for Barr's entire career he was seen by both parties as a man of impeccable integrity, and there is zero evidence showing otherwise.

You think this is true? "It seems" is repeated often enough that "it seems" there is no evidence, but plenty of pretty wild speculation.

Trump is trying to get police killed.

We call those memes, comrad!

Barr is one of the chose whose job it is to get rid of dead hookers for God's imperfect vessels.

He's on a mission from god. Temporal stuff is irrelevant.

Yeah, reality can be changed by the use of cute words like "meme.";)

Sheesh.

Mueller report: We are not allowed to say whether the president committed crimes, but we ARE NOT saying he did not, and if we thought he did not, we would say so, and here are the details of many things he did that fit crimes. Right-wingers: "DoJ cleared trump of all crimes!"

This is against the Geneva convention in a foreign land but Trump does this to us.

This idea of using personnel for purposes the executive wants, like prison guards for a private police force, isn't new.

When the president wanted to create the FBI a century ago, Congress said 'no. A private police force for the president's own use? That's a danger to our freedom'. So the president assigned federal marshals to do it anyway. And when there was a domestic terrorist incident (from 'anarchists'), the president got Congress to approve the agency.

Quack is the word for that.

I doubt "both parties' approved of his Iran Contra shenanigans.

Which look just like his trump shenanigans.

Having THIS justice department judging the evidence against Trump is an absurd joke. It won't be until Trump's SS chief is in the next call that we will have justice.

I fail to see how this is a defensible action. The idea of a police force that is completely unnamed and has no discernible chain of command or outlet for complaints etc makes the possibility of abuses go up dramatically. For any profession, the more you reduce accountability, the likelihood of abuse goes up.

Okay. Two. And if at least one of the OP's claims is true, why is it a problem? If people are peacefully protesting, this group will have nothing to do. I'm sorry, but this hardly qualifies as Barr's secret army.

You are avoiding the argument. And I don't think you want to head that direction. Using your logic it's impossible that the FBI did anything unjust against Flynn because (paraphase) "if he didn't lie, the FBI would have nothing to investigate. So why is it a problem?"

The problem here is that while most police officers have done their job adequately, and many have done their job splendidly, some have abused their power by shoving, kicking and tear gassing innocent peaceful protesters. This has happened and isn't really up for debate. So the real question is "should we allow nameless, unidentified men dressed in riot gear to have the opportunity to abuse their power without any possible recourse by the citizenry should that happen." And the answer seems to be an obvious and resounding "no". I'm sure you'd agree if you were walking home and were ordered to get on the ground by a man holding a gun in riot gear who tells you he's an agent but won't tell you his name, rank or what agency he is with.
