Arctic blast could bring record-breaking cold to midstate as northeast braces for May snow | WZTV

While the northeastern states will feel the brunt of this wintry mass, Meteorologist Greg Bobos said temperatures in the midstate could fall to the 30s. A very big difference from sunny and 70s last weekend.

Near record-breaking air will move into Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky Friday night into Saturday. A freeze watch will be in effect for the Plateau as temperatures could fall to near 30 degrees.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

You have no concept of what global warming means. Global warming is not about one cold or hot day. It is rather about years and years of research and observation. Science indicates that the average temperature has gone up by a specific number of degrees over the last 50 years. Even though it might not sound significant, there are creatures that have thermal niches that can be strongly affected by this temperature change. If these creatures/plants go extinct, a lot more will follow, and the day when all humans regret not paying attention to such a serious problem like climate change will come soon.

Do not confuse climate with weather. Weather is local and short lived - usually a matter of days. Climate is regional and deals with extended periods - centuries or more.

Ironically, that "polar vortex" effect actually does happen more often as the world gets warmer.

is incorrect on it's face!
The reality is that even on the heavily doctored data sets like the GISS, the decade average temperature has only increased by ~.79C in the last 50 years.
the phrase degrees (plural) implies 2 or 3 degree C or more, when the reality is less than 1C.

Unusual cold and snow are expected to sweep across North America and Europe over the coming days, thus threatening crops.
Not that mid May is approaching, global warming alarmists tell us we should already be expecting heat waves. But right now the opposite is in the forecast: snow and extreme cold! Who would have thought?
Snow for Boston and new York?
Meteorologist Dr. Ryan Maue tweeted that both New York City and Boston might see snow on Saturday as a “rare & powerful May ‘bomb cyclone’ Nor’easter” is projected to develop off the east coast.
Over a foot of snow might fall in Maine, Maue asserts:

While snow won't stick on the ground for long, if at all, parts of Maine might see more significant accumulations over a foot.

Flurries for NYC and Boston perhaps on Saturday as rare & powerful May "bomb cyclone" Nor'easter develops off New England coast.



Maue earlier had tweeted that the snow and cold could act as a “triple whammy” because “hard freezes limit agriculture, forces people to remain indoors w/central heating & provides outdoor environment favorable for coronavirus.”​

Not only the Northeast has to worry about winter striking so late in the season, but also an intense cold front will be sweeping across a vast swath of northern Europe, reports German weather site daswetter.com here. . . .

And yet we don't hear a peep out of GW deniers like you when we have a heat wave. Why is that?

One of the side effects of global warming is a buckling jet stream that creates more record lows and record highs due to extreme troughs and ridges.

But you knew that but of course will deny it.

With a bit of research you will find that I have in fact offered my peeps about heat waves.
It's a neat trick of propaganda to claim both record lows and record highs as global warming markers. That's BS. Neither matters.
