Euro 2024

Florian Wirtz is nowhere near the level of Foden and only you would say this Pete lol. One good season with Bayern Lev sure but Foden has been operating at a high level several seasons now for the best team in Europe at the highest level in club football. Foden I think right now is 5/6th fav to win the Ballon d'or....that's how highly he is regarded right now. As for Gavi I'm yet to see much from him that would put him in that bracket, seems to go missing where the going gets tough at Barca.

As for France Mbappe is obviously world class ( although walker seems to have his number) but who else? Dembele hasn't exactly set the world on fire! Marcus Thuram? Muani?
I disagree on Foden. I have not seen anything spectacular from him like Jude or Wirtz.

As for Gavi.. Foden does not go missing in games? Hilarious. Also Gavi has been playing at the top level for one year before getting injured. Foden has been a first team member for years, and only now at 23 is playing somewhat regularly.

Listen, England has players.. are they a team? That is the question. The games since the World Cup have been hot and cold... some expected big wins and then suddenly they cant beat the same team. Beating Malta 2-0 at home is absolutely pathetic if you have "the best midfield/attack" in Europe. Drawing with North Macedonia away is... pathetic. The last grasp draw against Belgium was bad. Loss against Brazil bad. My point is, as usual Brits might just be over hyping the team no? We shall see. England should win their group, but where have we heard that before..

To be honest most English fans are not the ones saying we are going to win it all. Bookies and the media. After losing to Italy on pens my soul died so i no longer have hope anymore and a lot of fans are nervous about southgate.

I am not wrong. Yes the odds are based on what people are betting, but people are easy to manipulate which is my point. Each 2 years we hear "It is coming home" and the hype by pundits and hence fans goes into the stratosphere with anticipation and that benefits the betting companies. Chances of England getting a major trophy is low, but not according to the betting.. odd no? wonder why fans think they have such a huge chance of winning? Could it be the betting companies pushing that narrative? After all, betting companies would earn big bucks if England did not win a major trophy.

Yeah, its a giant conspiracy. Very MAGA. And again the bookies make money on the volume of bets.. NOT ON WHICH TEAM WINS..
GOOD ****IN GRIEF. YOU JUST DONT UNDERSTAND THE FUNCTION OR WORKINGS OF A BOOKIE.
Just go away.
Thanks

I was watching when Marcus Rashford first started on ManUTD. You could tell he was talented. I missed a few years when things went to subscription services. Too bad that his ego has taken over. Another one is Mbappe, although he has way more upside than Rashford.

So you are saying large bets on England, who have been pumped up to be favorites by betting company sponsored sports media.... and when England most likely will fail, that the betting companies wont earn massively on that?

I think he just has to leave United.

He scored 30 goals last year for them and pretty much kept Ten Haag in a job. Was England's top scorer in the 2022 WC despite not starting most games. I genuinely think its less to do with ego and more how toxic that club has become. I mean look at Sancho, he was banned from the training facilities this year by United. Goes on loan to Dortmund and is 90 mins from the champions league final.

United were a favorite during the time Van Persia was playing, they have been looking for an even keel for a long time.

Like the NFL Dallas Cowboys, love or hate em.

I will just leave this here, hoping you fans have a good time this year.

A book maker makes his profit on volume.
They set odds and move odds so they don't get caught owning more than they take in.
Too much money on England, higher odds to bet on England.
Same with any country, any team, any sport.
Their profit comes from what is typically 5% charge on bets.

This is how it has always worked. Since time began. From mobsters on the street corner taking bets on the daily number to the top flight Las Vegas casinos.

You never get ture odds because the bookmaker has to build in his cut. It is standard.
