Christian rightwingers warn abortion fight could spark US civil war

The "right" to kill the unborn is akin to the Nazis killing Jewish people during WWII!!!!!!

Actually.. the anti abortionists have more in common with the NAZIs.

The Nazi years are then discussed in terms of abortion and birth control policies and practice in the period 1933-39 and in the war years 1939-45. The former period was characterized by the suppression of the birth control movement, increasing restrictions on grounds for legal abortion, and severe penalization of performers of illegal abortions. During the war, racial grounds were virtually the only basis for legal abortion, numbers of illegal abortions rose abruptly, and penalties were severe. Experiences in neighboring occupied countries mirrored, with some variation, the German policies and practices.

Labor unions are a perversion of the labor market that exist to employee fewer people at an overpaid rate. No organization is necessary, if your skills demand high wages you will get them. Unions instead foster racism and discrimination and are full of lazy freaking overpaid liars. Look at the contemptible lies the teamsters told to keep hard working Mexican truckers out of the US just to line their own pockets. And really who would loan money to the mob to launder their money if not unions?

We need more Pinkerton type union busting

LOL! So, IOW, you understand nothing of how markets actually work and how workers are valued.

Thanks for coming clean about that.

You want to be exploited by an employer for whom profits are all that matters? As far as I recall that's the reason unions came into being in the first place; to prevent bosses from taking the piss. However, I do agree that unions have to take some of the blame if their demands are so excessive that the business concerned is so adversely affected that closure is threatened as a result. Nobody in that scenario wins, but collective bargaining is no different to any other deal being made. There's a point at which one might have to choose between a bad deal or no deal.

I am a liberal who is perfectly okay with putting in more border guards, elevating the sophistication of both our apparatus and our screening procedures, I am even okay with putting in some more wall where it's feasible and practical.
In fact, I am even okay with making our system more "merit based" and I've always been supportive of basic English proficiency as a condition of any kind of legal residency.

Here is where I run into a problem:
Declaring that all are "illegal" even when they are attempting to come through legal ports of entry, most of which by the way are now CLOSED or closing.
Deporting longtime legal residents for the equivalent of a speeding ticket after they've lived here and set down roots for twenty or thirty years, basically all of the bullcrap that doesn't solve the problem but which makes Trump happy.
And "declaring a national emergency" in order to get his way, and ultimately shutting down the government for a month instead of negotiating.

Re infrastructure, Trump's plan is largely a mass privatization.
Sorry, we paid for that stuff, so he does NOT get to sell it off to his crooked friends as a cash cow.

Agree with this 200%

It's worked well in DC/Maryland. The price of the fast lane is set according to it going 55 mph. That lane pays for everyone else, who get free access to the highway. And its maintenance is accomplished with the proceeds from the fast lane. A private management company runs the show with a profit limit. It's practically a non-profit organization managing highway infrastructure.

We've paid a management company here in Washington - almost 80% of the proceeds went to the company in Texas - not to our state.
If most of it went to our state, I'd have less of a problem with it.

I expect an in state company bid.
