First Son in Law is in deep doo doo. No wonder Trump has been going after Jared.

Two Russian state institutions with close ties to Vladimir Putin funded substantial investments in Twitter and Facebook through a business associate of Jared Kushner, leaked documents reveal.

The investments were made through a Russian technology magnate, Yuri Milner, who also holds a stake in a company co-owned by Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior White House adviser.

That's a mighty fine thread they are pulling. I'm sure Jared has many business associates in many countries. They need to stop trying so hard, it sounds desperate. Milner holds a stake in many companies. Big deal.

Through DST Global, Milner is an investor in Facebook, Zynga, Twitter, Flipkart, Spotify, Zocdoc, Groupon, JD.com, Planet Labs, Xiaomi, Stripe, OlaCabs, Alibaba, Habito, AirBnB, WhatsApp, Wish and many others. Milner's personal investments also include a stake in 23andMe.

In September 2017 Forbes included Milner to the list of 100 greatest living business minds[6]. Milner was named one of the World's Greatest Leaders by Fortune magazine in March 2017,[7] was listed in the "Titans" category of Time magazine's 2016 Time 100.[8] Foreign Policy magazine included Milner on its "Power List" – an inaugural list of the 500 most powerful people on the planet in May 2013.[9] Milner was included in Bloomberg Markets' 2012 50 Most Influential list. In Fortune's 2010 list of the world's fifty most prominent businessmen, Milner was ranked 46th. That same year Russian business magazine Vedomosti recognized him as "Businessman of the Year".[10]

Re: Boom! Kushner Tid to Russian Facebook Funding

Let's add Wilbur to the long list of dirty Trumpians.

https://www.theguardian.com/news/20...family-paradise-papers?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

Donald Trump’s commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross, is doing business with Vladimir Putin’s son-in-law through a shipping venture in Russia.

Leaked documents and public filings show that Ross holds a stake in a shipping company, Navigator, through a chain of offshore investments. Navigator operates a lucrative partnership with Sibur, a Russian gas company part-owned by Kirill Shamalov, the husband of Putin’s daughter Katerina Tikhonova.

Ross, a billionaire and close friend of Trump, retained holdings in Navigator even after taking office this year. The relationship means that he stands to benefit from the operations of a Russian company run by Putin’s family and close allies, some of whom are under US sanctions.

Now that is chutzpah.

Re: Boom! Kushner Tid to Russian Facebook Funding

From the cited article:

Two Russian state institutions with close ties to Vladimir Putin funded substantial investments in Twitter and Facebook through a business associate of Jared Kushner, leaked documents reveal.

The investments were made through a Russian technology magnate, Yuri Milner, who also holds a stake in a company co-owned by Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior White House adviser.
. . . .
Milner said he had invested in Kushner’s business purely for commercial reasons, and that the pair had met only once, over cocktails in the US last year. “I’m not involved in any political activity. I’m not funding any political activity,” said Milner.

Russia funded Facebook and Twitter investments through Kushner associate

Doesn't seem related to politics or political influence to me, based on this one article. Also, seems that a Kusher associate is / was far more involved than Kushner himself.

This seems like just another case of someone shouting "squirrel!" to me anyway.

There is a lot of grasping at straws by those seeking validation they lost the election due to "cheating."

Actions by Manafort...all occurring prior to his service on the campaign (except for the continued money laundering of his prior profits...dirty money takes time to get clean. ;) ). No evidence of election collusion.

Actions by Flynn...all with the intent to personally capitalize on his current and future contacts by failing to register as a foreign agent and lying about it. No evidence anyone in the campaign was aware, much less encouraging it for purposes of election collusion.

Actions by Page...which he states were not political, but simply social or business connected. No evidence of contact for election collusion, at best he mentioned a non-campaign contact to Sessions "in passing."

Actions by Popadopoulos, a foreign advisor who lied about contacts with a possible Russian agent during an FBI interview, who claims he got the go ahead to delve into it. No evidence any valid contacts occurred or that he was expected to create a link for "collusion."

Actions by Trump Jr. to learn about possible dirt on Hillary from Russians, who turned out to have lied in order to try to lobby for Russian orphans. No evidence of illegal collusion, only normal "dirt-digging."

Yet the disloyal opposition keeps crowing about this as if it were a firm foundation for losing the election by criminal conspiracy...rather than just a house of cards.

I can't wait until the next "revelation" proves as flimsy. :coffeepap:

A nice summary, thank you.

Of course, if we are looking for Russian collusion, which includes bribery, corruption, pay to play, and kickbacks, we just have to look at the Uranium One deal, which seems to be far more condemning, given that there was an FBI investigation underway which had gathered a great deal of documentation to substantiate it (still held confidential, as is appropriate) as well as a witness / whistle blower / CI who's previous administration's DOJ gag order now lifted.

Uranium One :lamo

Yes, Uranium One.

Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.

Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and court documents show.

They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.

The racketeering scheme was conducted “with the consent of higher level officials” in Russia who “shared the proceeds” from the kickbacks, one agent declared in an affidavit years later.

Yes, I know, a laughable matter to you, considering your hyper-partisan disposition.

Re: Boom! Kushner Tid to Russian Facebook Funding

Is deep doo doo a legal term?
Or is it just one more attempted silly attack pushing the Russia story?

"Facebook’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, was so impressed with Milner’s rise that he invited the Russian to invest in Facebook. Milner’s company “stood out because of the global perspective they bring”, Zuckerberg said when announcing their first $200m deal in 2009. “I believe I had some expertise at the time that Mark found valuable,” Milner said.

The pair became friends and Zuckerberg attended Milner’s wedding in California late in 2011. The ceremony was held at a vast mansion atop a hillside near Silicon Valley that Milner had recently bought for $100m. Milner and Zuckerberg are advisers to each other’s philanthropic ventures and remain close."

BOOM! - So it's Zuckerberg who's colluding with the Russians.

The latter. Gets tedious, dunnit?

Re: Boom! Kushner Tid to Russian Facebook Funding

Especially when the political left has its own Russian collusion / bribery / kickbacks / Russian intelligence / obstruction of justice fiasco / scandal that has a lot more evidence supporting it.

Re: Boom! Kushner Tid to Russian Facebook Funding

Have you noticed that those who are most dismissive about a subject very likely know the least about it?

I think that may very well be a conscious choice by some, hyper-partisanship being what it is.

The totally out of balance approach to both sets of "scandals" can be used as a kind of seriousness barometer about posts.

Oh yeah. Limited exposure to uncomfortable information is no accident.

Re: Boom! Kushner Tid to Russian Facebook Funding

Oh yeah. Limited exposure to uncomfortable information is no accident.

True. But being realistic and honest, it's not something that's limited to just the political left.

Now granted, the political left may practice that more often, I don't know this as a certainty, but it sure appears they do. Dunno.

Okay, so Jared knew someone who knew someone who knew someone else who did something that wasn't illegal.

Correct?

More like Jared accepted money from Russians. And, Commerce Secretary, Wilbur Ross, is partners with Putin's son in-law in an offshore business he did not disclose. /thread

That's not what the OP asserts. All this shark-jumping today.
