Another dead teen.

Indiana teen killed by her backseat passenger while driving, police say - CNN

This story is just nuts, highlighting how gun-nuts this nation has become.

An Indiana teen was shot and killed by a backseat passenger with an AR-15 style rifle...

Austin Smith, 22, was sitting behind McMillan with the rifle when it discharged, police said. Smith is being held on bond on charges of reckless homicide and criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon, according to the Grant Count Jail website.

Sheesh.

more silly attempts to smear all gun owners because of the stupidity of one. BTW I believe it is illegal to have a loaded rifle in a car. It is in Ohio even if you have a CCW. recent legal changes allow you to have loaded magazines in a bag, but not inserted in the firearm. So someone violated a law before the woman was shot

If it was only one, no one would be bitching. 40,000 annual gun deaths seem to always escape your attention, TD.

40,000 out of 100 million gun owners and 400 million guns

of those 40 K, about 26-30K are suicides.

Of the 10,000 or so felonious homicides, 8000 or more are caused by people who were already violating 18 USC 922 by merely possessing a firearm. of the remaining few thousand, some are justifiable (ie good shootings) or excusable (no legal liability). That leaves less than a couple thousand that your complaining applies to

BTW you would be bitching no matter what because the NRA supported Trump

Yes, we know you scoff at 40,000 deaths. Hence, that is why I laugh when you whine about me bringing up "one."

1.25 million people die everyday in auto crashes. Fact is in this story, what the person did was illegal. It's good the person is being charged for this negligence. It's still silly to vilify an object. For example, one person could say that if guns were banned, this death would not have happened. You can also then say if cars were banned, than this death wouldn't have happened. Either is silly IMO and misses the point that a person is the problem, not the object.

Well, I guess we can pretend this was about the car crash and not the AR15 in the asshole's hand.

Again, you are vilifying an object when the problem is the person, not the object. If I put an AR-15 on a chair without a person near it doesn't shoot anyone. If I put a car in the garage, with no person it doesn't kill anyone. Should we lock up all objects that people can use to kill?

Agreed. If they'd all been killed texting and driving, there wouldn't even have been a thread on it.

Austin Smith, the shooter, is going to go to prison for this tragedy. He as an adult and his actions resulted in the death of another person. It shouldn't matter how he did it, but to some people, the fact he used a gun instead of a car, a knife or anything else does make a difference to the gun-banning mob.

Be honest, please. How many of those "gun deaths" are suicides? Do you really think banning guns would stop a suicidal person?

A crime was committed by a single person, an arrest was made and the suspect is currently locked up. Somehow, that is to be seen as a good guy with a gun story or need for some new (but never specified) gun control law(s).

It's like TurtleDude said: "more silly attempts to smear all gun owners because of the stupidity of one."

40,000 annual gun deaths in the US prove your statement is bull****.

2/3s of those deaths are suicide which makes your statement an even bigger pile of BS. The fact you dodged my previous question on the subject proves you know it is BS too.

So, 40,000 deaths. Not one. Correct?

Wrong again. 2/3s are suicides. Over 47,000 suicides in the US every year and the LW anti-guns don't give a damn except for the half who used a gun so they can fluff up their "gun deaths" numbers.

So, in your head, suicide is not death.

That number is clearly wrong but the rest of your point is sound

It would sure help solve the population problem if it was not.

wrong-why don't you tell everyone what your intentions are for this thread? it is to smear gun owners because you are mad that gun owners helped elect Trump. Most of those gun deaths involve suicides and banned (from owning guns) people shooting other criminals.
