Ethan Couch, who became known as the “affluenza teen” after his actions were blamed on his family’s wealth, has been released from a Texas jail, where he spent almost two years after killing four people in a drunk driving accident.

Couch will have to stick to a 9pm curfew and will not be allowed to drink alcohol. But his release has been branded as a “grave injustice” by a mothers group.

Couch, 20, was released from the Tarrant county jail near Dallas, on Monday morning, according to Tarrant county sheriff’s spokesman David McClelland, who provided no other details. It was not immediately clear where Couch went after leaving jail.

Texas, where you can kill several people while drunk driving, violate your probation, become a fugitive in Mexico, go through the extradition process, return to the US and still be out in 2 years.... but if you vote illegally... you're ****ed for 5:

A Texas woman voted while on probation. The penalty? 5 years in prison

Money, that's all you need.

Thing is:

He essentially walked on the original crime, getting only probation. His two years were due to his probation violation. If he didn't violate, he never would have spent a night behind bars. How is this possible?

Money and being white in an incredibly racist justice system. If you're poor and black or brown you'll go to jail for almost everything. If you're rich and white there's very few things you'll ever see the inside of a jail cell for. Including manslaughter apparently.

For context this is the same state that imprisons people for owning a natural plant. "Affluenza" should exacerbate one's sentence because they had everything given to them on a silver platter and still ****ed up.

Money knows no color except green. Just ask OJ. If you're white and poor, same thing- you're going to jail. It just so happens that white people are slightly less poor.

I remember hearing about this monster's sentencing; it was outrageous then, and it's no less outrageous now; total miscarriage of justice predicated on his daddy's wealth.

He should be in prison for 20 years at the very least, and subject to a mandatory rehabilitation process for both his alcoholism and this so called bull**** diagnosis of 'affluenza'.

It's beyond absurd that the courts actually believed that the best way to address this asshole's apparent inability to grasp consequences as a result of a life sheltered from them is to keep enabling the guy; evidently the irony of this was completely lost on the judge.

This vid totally nails it:

Not even the 'bikini clad drink driver' could escape a lengthy sentence for DUI homicide in Texas (7 years per death). Yet Couch walks after only 2... Must be the money.

Race has nothing to do with it... several recent cases with white drunk drivers in Texas prove that.

Lmao, probably because she pled guilty; it's standard when people fear they'll get more time. It's also literally stated in the second sentence of your carefully picked story. Did you bother to read that far while you were looking for one white person to prove that this wasn't about race? Another brilliantly see through debating performance by TAAC.

Sitting here calmly twiddling my thumbs, waiting for TAAC to get ramped up for the incoming intellectual beatdown.

Truthatallcost compares the sentencing of two white people then declares the Texas justice system to thus be racism free. Classic.

To be fair at least he tried to come up with sources. Everyone else in this thread that has mentioned race is blaming his whiteness without a single shred of evidence. I can understand blaming it on money. It's well known that money influences verdicts/sentencing. But just because of someone's skin color? Unless you can come up with proof that this guy got a lighter sentence just because of his skin color I'm going to call BS on it. Despite so many claims its not always about race.

She made the mistake of voting while black.

Lol, no he's saying that different white people, judged in different counties, by different judges, where both use different legal strategies, came away with different results; therefore no racism.

You realize my response to you was just to say 'yep, he got a light sentence because he's rich'? That was the gist of it. Lol, you think I'm trying to prove you wrong, just because I responded to you. But oh well, proving you wrong is fun, so here's this-

Couch pleaded guilty to four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.

They both pled guilty to their charges. But bikini drunko isn't rich, so she gets 14 years in a Texas pen. Race has nothing to do with this story, calm down now, we don't want no trouble.

Ah, if I didn't know your posts on anti-white Jews, and defense of racists until you're proven completely wrong, I'd say you're trying to be fair. However since I know yours, and his. I don't give a flying **** who you're trying to be fair to, dear Kal'Stang.

 Even if I were all the things you assume that I am (which I'm not despite what you personally think, you don't know jack **** about me). Is what I said any less true?

 Even if I were all the things you assume

I don't assume you're anything. I know for a fact you've gone out of your way to discuss how anti-white those high powered Jewish lawyers at the ADL are. That makes me not give too much of a **** about who you're trying to be fair to. Keep talking about it though if it makes you feel better.
