Was Jesus hung on a cross?

From somebody who doesn't even know what god they claim to serve?

I know my God does not punish people in a burning hell forever, for 70-80 years of sin...He is just...

The Bible hell is the grave...you haven't studied the OT or NT...

It's both, whizz kid. The grave and gehenna. To say otherwise is Jemimah's Wildebeasts propaganda.

People like Hitller? Stalin? Pol Pot? They just get to tiptoe through the tulips with the people they murdered... sounds like wishful thinking...like saying nothing bad can come of smoking, drinking, taking drugs. You hope not. Well see.

It cannot be both...the original Hebrew word for the grave is sheol...the original Greek word for the grave is hades...they both translate into English as the grave...some translations just stupidly replace both the Hebrew and Greek words with hell, which further confuses the truth with paganism...

They are dead...if they're thrown into the lake of fire, along with death and the grave, they nevermore exist...

I would agree...regardless of whose god that is. No just god would punish someone for eternity.

You better hope so.

As if you know something about "the truth"? Your own "theology" is a dead end street and you think you know "the truth"? I am through with you, do what you want, worship your made up god and his warrior angel, I shake the dust off my shoes.

Then when was hell added and/or why didn’t anyone else believe in an “afterlife “ heaven and hell before , during or for centuries after the life of Jesus???

Still to this day jews have no heaven or hell...

So what gives??

Did the resurrection cause the 2 to manifest??

Was it a secret that no one found out about till a thousand years later??

He forgets that some translations say...mine uses the correct word, grave...Jesus was in hell for 3 days...whatever did he do to deserve even 3 days of burning in a fire?

For sure it is all based on words having multiple definitions...

Sure they said “he’ll” but that isn’t what they meant.

It's been there all along but people who think they know everything have tried to make it something it isn't. The Hebrews had something they called "Sheol". The first time I heard the word it was "the pit". The underworld, the abyss, eternal punishment, which matches up nicely with the "outer darkness" Jesus spoke of. I don't remember if Jesus said hell WAS fire, or if it was "like" fire.

Take it or leave it, I'm sick of arguing with you people.

Sheol is purgatory and looks nothing like a heaven or hell...

It is not based on your how good you were in life..

The pit is where Lucifer fell... that was later adapted into a prison for all non-believers later.

Lucifer was not a reference to Satan...it was in reference to the Babylonian dynasty of kings represented by Nebuchadnezzar...

So, exactly where is it in the Genesis account...everything else created was there...where is hellfire? What scripture?

Yep.. he’ll is the pit he threw Lucifer into..

Where does he say “and I’ll send all the non-believers to be tortured appropriately for their crimes”

lol...concession noted...:2razz:

And you don't know any more than you did five minutes ago. You can't learn anything new when you think you know everything already, and I'm probably not the first person to have told you that.

lol...

Psychological projection is a defense mechanism people subconsciously employ in order to cope with difficult feelings or emotions. Psychological projection involves projecting undesirable feelings or emotions onto someone else, rather than admitting to or dealing with the unwanted feelings.

I think the Elysian fields were a purgatory..

Heaven/hell= all the souls are divided among desirable and undesirable ones..

Purgatory= everyone is thrown into the same box regardless of righteousness..

I am an atheist, she is a pretty hard core Christian. Yet we are both saying the same thing because is is the mainstream historical view.
