The main definition according to who? Original manuscripts or hearsay/false doctrine?

It's all a matter of context and interpretation.. and that is what gets argued.

There is also the matter that is has been proven that mankind is over 200,000 years old from a biological point of view.

We're not talking about science, we're talking about original Hebrew and Greek...the word had a distinct, original meaning...

THe Greek means nothing. It is not relevant, and anything written in the Greek is null and void. The Hebrew can always been taken symbolically, and in Genesis, there is enough word plays to show it wasn't literal.
