"If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." John 14:14 .... What an awesome promise

"12 Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in Me will do the works that I do also. And he will do greater works than these, because I am going to My Father". John 14:12 .....More awesome information

22 Therefore you now have sorrow. But I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
23 On that day you will ask Me nothing. Truly, truly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you.
24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 15

I've asked Jesus that He will see to it that a Globalist minion hit squad will come to my home (south of Uttaradit Thailand) and shoot me in the chest then behead me and leave ... leaving my body and head at my home.
Then have me sitting in my swing perfectly healthy when a few days later my family returns from having my body cremated at the local temple.

21 From that time on, Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day.
22 Then Peter took Him and began rebuking Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord! This shall not happen to You.”
23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things that are of God, but those that are of men.” Matt 16

Imagine praying to Him to be brutally murdered so he can be "resurrected"!
If that isn't insanity, I don't know what is. ............

Abraham understands so little about God.
That Abraham guy said God told him to go sacrifice the son that he says God had been promising him for years.
If that isn't insanity, I don't know what is !

That traveling salesman who came through the other day from Egypt claimed he heard that the virtual ruler in Egypt was a Hebrew who had been sold into slavery by his own brothers.
Never heard nothing crazier in my whole life !

Moses understands so little about God.
That Moses guy whose been sheep herding for 40 years said God told him to go and liberate the slaves in Egypt !
If that isn't insanity, I don't know what is !

That son of a carpenter Jesus they crucified yesterday made the craziest claim I ever heard.
He claimed He was the Messiah Son of God and was coming back and would create something He called a "Church" that would be indestructible.
If that isn't insanity, I don't know what is !

Surely you jest here. Using a verse, or quote, here & there out of context never can be used as a basis of argument, such as you have done here.

There are conditions to the promise of “ask and receive” in John 14:14, “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” Here, Jesus does not promise His disciples anything and everything they want; rather, He instructs them to ask “in my name.” To pray in Jesus’ name is to pray on the basis of Jesus’ authority, but it also involves praying according to the will of God, for the will of God is what Jesus always did (John 6:38). This truth is stated explicitly in 1 John 5:14, “If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” Our requests must be congruent with the will of God.

The promise of “ask and receive,” even with its conditions, can never disappoint. There is no chance of things we need not being in God’s will. He promises to supply what we need when we “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). Of course, what we want is not always what we need. If what we want is not in God’s will, then we really don’t want to receive it. God knows what is good for us and is faithful and loving to say “no” to selfish and foolish prayers, no matter how much we want what we’re asking for.

Dear rex, You think you know the will of Jesus regarding MY life better than I do. I don't think you do. Thanks for the concern. Best wishes and have a nice day, JP

ps: On 21 July this year I turn seventy. The best birthday gift I can think of getting (selfish ole me) would be for a Globalist cabal sponsored hit squad to come through my gate and shoot me several times in the chest and then cut off my head.
This some 3 days later followed by Jesus seeing to it that I be perfectly healthy sitting on my swing singing "Red River Valley" when my Thai family and neighbors come home from the temple where hours before they took my body to be cremated.

"The years of our life are seventy, and if by reason of strength eighty; yet their length is toil and sorrow, for they soon end, and we fly away." Psalm 90:10

You should read Rextr05's words again and take them to heart...you are indeed being selfish and in no way adhering to God's Word...

Peter cared about Jesus ..... Peter had walked with Jesus for years ...Peter saw Jesus heal and more ..... Peter saw Jesus bring Lazarus back from the dead ...... Peter correctly IDed Jesus ....

Yet Peter was stunned by Jesus's plan to go to Jerusalem and be crucified. Peter thought he knew better than Jesus knew.

You are not Jesus...

You are not Jesus...

Are we to seek to be Christ-like or not ? Are we to emulate-follow Jesus or not ?

Note what I'm asking (certainly my coming back from the dead) cannot-will not happen unless Jesus makes it happen.

So you are on record as believing Jesus will have nothing to do with execution of my plan (which I believe was Jesus plan all along that only recently I have been made aware of)
